Today was my second visit to this restaurant. My first experience was excellent—the food was so good that I called friends and family afterward and encouraged them to order for the holidays. Although I live about twenty-five miles away, the quality of that first visit made the drive feel worthwhile.
Because of that experience, I decided to return today and was excited to order the ribs again, along with mac and cheese and greens. While waiting for my food, I observed a Caucasian couple receive their order. The staff member who brought it out was very cordial, made eye contact, and thanked them for their order, which I considered good customer service.
When my food was brought out by the same person, the interaction was noticeably different. She handed me the bag without making eye contact and did not say thank you. I said “thank you” to her, and she then replied.
Once I got to my car, I decided to eat some of the food. The ribs looked old and tasted old. As I continued eating, something did not sit right with my stomach, and I became physically ill and vomited in the parking lot—something that has not happened to me in years.
I was extremely disappointed, especially given that the food was not inexpensive. I can only speak to what I was served, but this experience fell far below the standard of my first visit. It is disheartening when the quality and care that initially earned my support were not reflected this time. Compromising the integrity of your food and service is never worth it.

Been trying to get here for a year since I first heard about it, but they’re only open on Sunday and I used to work Sundays. Anyway so glad I finally went. I got the smothered pork chops, they were perfect and tender, and the gravy was excellent also. They’re green beans had good flavor and chunks of meat. Everything was as good I’d hoped. Just wish I had gotten there sooner.

Ordered the smothered pork chops over rice, mac and cheese, corn muffins, and collards. Everything was amazing. Food was seasoned perfectly and the portion size is enough for 2 people. Also got the strawberry short cake which did not disappoint. The restaurant is ran by a great group of people and would definitely recommend eating here.

We ordered food for 35 people for our church’s Family and Friends Day — and it was more than enough! The food was hot, seasoned to the bone, and ready right on time. The guy on the grill had the smoker going as I pulled up, and it smelled absolutely delicious. I got some help loading everything up, and although I didn’t get many pictures of our setup, if my to-go plate says anything… just know I’m going to enjoy every bite myself!

The hamburger was so good that I forgot to take a picture until I was almost done eatting it. The sweet potato pie was excellent. We felt very welcome and appreciated. We will go back for the smothered pork chops. If you like good ole southern cooking you need to try Hattie’s food.

My husband and I stopped in to Hattie’s today for dinner as we are new to the area. OMGOSH! The food is out of this world. We ordered the rib plate with dressing and yams. SO GOOD. Ending the meal with the red velvet cake. I’m already looking forward to next Sunday!

Had the pleasure of eating lunch from Hattie Marie’s Cafe today. I called in my order and arrived about 15 mins later. When I got there I wasn’t sure which door to go in but I chose the left and was greeted with smiles and warm hospitality. I ordered the fried pork chops with mac n chs & green beans. The pork chops were amazing. They were big and tasted great! I finished my mac n chs first as it was so good. The green beans were yummy as well. This will definitely be a weekly stop for me! I can’t wait to try the chicken. Happy to have a new place to get such amazing food for a great price.

I was in town for spring break. I visited on a Sunday. Everything was hot, fresh, and well seasoned. An overall hearty meal. I had smothered pork chops over rice and they were delicious. Portion size was so big I had left overs which were still tasty the next day. The greens were good with a little spice to them, no hot sauce needed. The green beans were . The yams were yummy. The banana pudding barely made it out the parking lot, too good. I wanted to turn back around for more. The dressing was good, it wasn’t dry at all. I will definitely be returning. Wish I could order a whole banana pudding, made me think about those Jackson vanilla wafers. Not sure what cookies were used but it definitely reminds me of back home cooking. All the chicken was good, rather it was smoked, fried, or baked. Me and the kids had several options.

Stopped in for the first time today. Will not be the last.
Mac and cheese is HOT and tasty, collards didn’t need a thing, and chicken was fried in fresh hot grease.
Yall keep doing what you’re doing!
