I’m not exaggerating when I say this was the best Sashimi and hand rolls that I have ever had. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. The wait was definitely worth it and shorter than we were expecting. We waited maybe 25 mins max. We spent about 100.00 for both me and my husband to eat and it was totally worth it. Melt in your mouth Sashimi. I’ve never tried Akami before but with the black garlic it’s some of the best fish I’ve tried. The spicy tuna roll was the best I’ve had that’s usually my go to. I love that the fish was diced not a kind of extreme mince that usually happens, it allowed the freshness of the fish to truly shine. They have seasonal options on the board and I’m convinced you can’t go wrong! The other item that deserves a honorable mention is the Salmon with truffle Ponzu, if you get nothing else lol get this dish! I didn’t get pics of the Mini hand roll with Wagyu, Toro and Uni , the Smoked Tuna bell Nigiri or Salmon Belly Nigiri but they were delicious as well. Great service knowledgeable staff and delicious food. We will definitely be back.

Entertaining experience, interesting selections and service depends on the professional. First and foremost, you’re placed on a waitlist and there’s bars and shops nearby while you wait or you can sit inside. Second, the host is short and direct, don’t expect southern hospitality. The sushi chefs are hit and miss when it comes to explanations of the menu. The servers are the friendliest staff. You’ll get the best welcome and support from them when ordering. Fourth, the food has unique profiles and creates a fun and fulfilling meal. I’d rate this place below Nobu (cost and taste) and above everything else in a 20 mile radius. Overall, fun experience and a few bites worthy of repeat. I’d consider returning for the appetizing meal but debating the preferential treatment to other customers. Nonetheless, there was a great atmosphere and easy place to create conversations with strangers over the wonderful tasty bites!

I loved the experience here! They were really busy, so there was a 20 minute wait. We sat at the end of the bar. I am not a fan of sitting at a bar because of the limited table space and proximity to other people. However, it was a short wait so we went with It.
When we sat down, the server was very knowledgeable since it was our first time. She explained that their fish varies so they have an updated chalk board with the menu of the day. It has the name of the fish, the option for nigiri or sashimi, add on options of that type of fish and the price. They give a paper with additional items to order, drinks, etc. In the section labeled Daily Special, that is what we had to write down to order based on the selection on the chalkboard. We tried the following:

Round 1:
Sashimi:
– Hamachili: this was spicy and I loved how fresh it tasted.
– Salmon Truffle Ponzu: salmon is always good and it melts in your mouth.
– Kanpachi with Ume: the fish was wrapped around a piece of apple. It tasted better separated and not together.
Nigiri:
– Shima-aji with garlic puree: this was okay, not a huge fan of the garlic puree.
– Chutoro – this was my favorite because the fish and flavors all came together perfectly.
– Ootoro: this was good as well, but I preferred the Chutoro.
I wanted to try some more in round two and ordered some of the same ones that were good and tried the following new orders:

Round 2:
Nigiri:
– Kuromutsu: this was smoked and it was okay
– Sawara: this mackerel was okay. I felt like there was too many flavors at once.

Overall, the quality of the sushi was amazing! The sushi chefs were on top of it and explained what each fish was when they served it. The server checked in on us to make sure everything was tasting good and helped with additional orders. This place is pricey it you are willing to spend, but if not you’ll need a second meal afterwards to feel full. My friends and I each spent about $100 and we could still eat after. This is a must try if you love sushi!

This place is amazing! Don’t go expecting easy in, easy out. There is always a wait, and for very good reason. The service is friendly, quick, and knowledgeable. You can see the chefs are skilled and the offerings prove it. I had some of the most delicious bites of my life here and I can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been coming here for a while, and I really want to love it because the servers are some of the nicest people you’ll meet. They’re attentive, kind, and always do their best to make the experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, the experience at the sushi bar depends heavily on which chef is working. A few are friendly and sociable, but many come off as cold, dismissive, or flat-out rude.
The quality of the sushi USED to make up for the unfriendly staff and felt worth overlooking the lack of warmth behind the counter. However, as the restaurant has grown in popularity, both the quality of the fish and the attitudes seem to have declined.
On my last visit, the chef didn’t greet me, failed to garnish multiple dishes, and completely forgot one of the pieces I ordered. When the server brought it to his attention, he seemed irritated that he had to make the piece I had already paid for. At this price point, that’s unacceptable.
You can’t have declining quality and consistently unpleasant chefs. Either maintain exceptional sushi that makes guests overlook the atmosphere, or hire chefs who understand hospitality. While the sushi is still good by Fort Worth standards, it’s become overhyped for what you actually receive.
At this price point especially when you consider customers wait 2+ hours to eat here it makes more sense to stick with Nobo instead; Then at least it’s worth the price as well as experience.

Unbelievably good. Amazing that Fort Worth has a sushi place like this. First come first serve. If you don’t show up 15+ min before opening you will be waiting 50-60 minutes for the next wave. 25 seats. Omakase was special and very pricey. There are a la carte options that would be less expensive but we decided to go all out. Most of the fish on this Friday lunch was freshly flown in from Japan. Every piece was amazing.

This is the Rolls-Royce of sushi in DFW. According to my partner, the second best sushi he’s ever had next to having sushi in Japan. First best for me :). Everything is always super fresh, delicious, and perfectly timed! There are only ~20-25 seats around the chefs and 1-2 tables outside (I forgot to count), so if you want to guarantee yourself a spot at opening, you better get there by 4:00 p.m. ’cause this sushi is in HIGH demand for a reason.

Recommended if available: salmon belly, hamachili, Spanish mackerel, hand rolls (ALL!), salmon with truffle ponzu, kanpachi with cherry blossom, hirame with pesto, kinmedai.

Yum! Only a 10 minute wait at 1 pm. The freshest sushi and sashimi I have ever had. You can order off the small menu but don’t! Instead select the goodies off the special board. All of their recommendations were delicious. I enjoyed watching our food being prepared. It is a small spot & is solely a U shaped bar setup, so do not bring a large group. Best for 1-4 person group if you want to chat with each other. We will return !!

Absolutely peak. I wish I could savor every bite of every piece of sushi in my mouth forever. Almost all other food pales in comparison, and I feel a post-meal depression that lasts a day after experiencing these heights of culinary quality. Outstanding.

We had under a 30 minute wait around after 11am on a Friday. There’s other cool stuff on the same strip to visit if you’re needing to wait a while. Also, there’s a check-in inside for 4 hours of free parking for the strip’s parking lot. Don’t be like me and accidentally pay $9 for an hour of parking only to replace it with 4 hours of free parking.

Absolutely, hands down, the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life. I’m going to be craving the sushi I ate here. Definitely recommend coming here even if you end up having to wait a while for seating, it’s worth it.
