I’ve been hearing about this place for a while and I’m so mad it took me so long to go but I’ll definitely be back. Great food. Everything tastes fresh and flavourful. Unique takes on items which I loved, for example the corn bread was almost black with peppers and delicious. The drinks were great And so was the bar on the backend of the restaurant almost like a little speakeasy. They say the food is family style but small portions. Order a lot and you’ll spend some good change. Worth the money. Atmosphere is romantic and beautiful as well.

Considering its Michelin-star status, I expected a heightened dining experience but left feeling disappointed. Here’s a summary of our experience:

Cornbread was 10/10. Dates were yummy, veggies (Brussel sprouts and carrots) were delicious but nothing crazy flavor wise. Pork chop could have used a sauce. My orange wine was great. Next time would go for cornbread / app and a drink and make sure to sit on the patio. It was kind of loud inside. Glad we tried it!

A wonderful space to share a meal with friends, family, or on a date. Energetic but also relaxed vibe. Decor makes the inside feel cozy and the outdoor space is also refreshing.

The service is some of the best I’ve experienced anywhere. Empty water glass? Not a chance. Leave your napkin unfolded and go to the bathroom? It’s folded on the table for you when you get back. The food was creative and diverse and even amazing as a vegetarian. I can’t wait to go back.

Visited Hatchet Hall in Culver City and was truly impressed. Their wood fire dishes, sourced from local farmers, are a culinary delight. The rotating wine selection, leaning towards organic and biodynamic, is a standout. Whiskey lovers will appreciate their vast American Whiskey range. A must-visit for a unique dining and drink experience. recommend! . Good spot for friends gathering.

Hatchet Hall? I’ll start with seating. The host greeted us with a smile and lead us to our table. We had the option of in or out; there is a patio with seating in the front, we decided to eat indoor. We got situated in our seats and a staff member was immediately ready with water to fill our glasses. The sever followed soon after for drink orders. He was very friendly and as my girlfriend was hungry, we opted to include some appetizers. The drinks were brought out about 5 minutes after we ordered them. What?! Then followed with the cornbread and fried green tomatoes we ordered as appetizers. We toasted and grabbed our first bites. “Are they playing the Postal Service” my girlfriend stated rather than ask. The vibe was killer, and the cornbread… seriously – other level; it’s like a cake with each bite melting in your mouth; buttery moist with the sweetness of corn. Fried green tomatoes the texture and outer crust – we enjoyed our appetizers and drinks, I ordered an old fashioned – prepared to perfection with a large ice cube. The entrees came out soon after we cleaned our appetizer plates; sea bass and pork chops. It’s hard for me to decide what was better?! Both seasoned and cooked to perfection. The standout on both dishes was the outer crust. Like each bite…. Staff was very attentive to our table throughout our meal, filling water and clearing plates.

This was one of our favorite meals in a while. I don’t think we had a dish that we didn’t really really enjoy. The corn bread was definitely a must!!! We had the Mussels, King Oyster Mushrooms, Gnocchi, Corn Bread and Scallops and each was so good.
