Great food that you can tell is handmade with fresh, very flavorful ingredients. Huge portions. I got the pulled pork grilled cheese (substituted chicken) and a side of mac n cheese to go. Could only eat half the sandwich and some of the macaroni; definitely going to have some good leftovers.

My love and I enjoyed delicious banh mi with pork. We had sweet potato fries and maple syrup brussel sprouts on the side. Everything was wonderful.

The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Hit a crowded time of day. The counter was patient answering questions. Not a bad wait considering the time of day, but no in door seating was available on this cold, cloudy day.

Our favorite lunch spot in Hickory! Great food with lots of options. Staff is always friendly. Sometimes there can be a long line to order, but I don’t mind… it’s great seeing a local establishment busy and successful!

Great independent/local vibe. I upgraded to the broccoli, which was delicious, but VERY heavy. I paid the extra $4 to feel healthy, but instead took a couple bites and brought it home to my kiddo. The Ba-mi with pork was alright. I liked the bread, but the pork was dry. You can pick a different protein. The cilantro was a lot of stems and felt a bit unthoughtful. I would go again, for the variety and ease but wish that healthy options were a bit lighter.

Came in this weekend after the reopening, wanted another italian cause the last time i had it a few months ago it was the bomb. Came in this weekend and found out they did change their recipe for their italian. I still ordered but mine & my buddies both had wayyyy too much of the new aoli they added it to, couldn’t taste anything else in the sandwich at all cause the aoli was so robust. J came to say personally preferred the italian prior to their change up, that was one of the best italians i’ve ever had. atmostphere and service were still fantastic and this is not a knock on the restaurant at all

So glad Hatch is BACK! The staff are always warm and welcoming and in this reopening phase they communicate so well and people would do well to give some grace if they run out of an ingredient. What a blessing to have after reopening!!! The smash burger was amazing and I’m so jealous I didn’t order the chicken cheesesteak! Everything was 10/10 and we cannot wait to be back for some Brussels and Sweet potato fries. Thanks for sticking out the challenges of the recent past!

We were driving through Hickory and just googled a lunch spot. Hatch came up with great reviews so we decided to make a stop. Place was buzzing with people and a queue. Staff was trying to handle phone orders and in-store orders so we didn’t try to ask any questions. Board showed a great selection of sandwiches and Thanksgiving turkey caught our eyes. Maybe it was not the right choice as the sandwich we received was underwhelming. We have never seen a Turkey sandwich so sad looking. Definitely not giving a Thanksgivings vibe. Made us regret that we didn’t stop at Jersey Mike’s. If pulled pork sandwiches are the specialty, will be good to know on the board.

Last night was our first time to dine at Hatch — but it won’t be our last! I had commented several times when heading downtown for a play that we should give it a try and we finally did. Yes, theater goers— its super close to Hickory Community Theater!
We tried several things. The pulled pork grill cheese was delicious — piled high with pork and yummy cheese!
We also order the three sides plate. We chose the Brussels sprouts with maple, the broccoli with miso, sumac roasted carrots. The broccoli stands out for the umami flavors and the carrots were just perfection.
The REAL standout for the night was the charred eggplant with “cashew-cilantro cream, pickled mustard seeds, parsley, and hot honey”. WOW! It was amazing. It might not win any prizes for beauty, but for flavor, it is top notch! If they have this on special when you dine there, don’t miss it. We were actually using the bread from our sandwiches to get every last bit of that cashew cream from the plate. Yes, it is that good.
When you are looking for a place that isn’t fancy or pretentious, has good prices and excellent food, give Hatch a try.

Absolutely loved my experience at Hatch in downtown Hickory! This local spot is a real gem. I had the Rueben and it was easily one of the best I’ve ever had – perfectly grilled and packed with flavor. My colleague’s salad looked incredible too. The outdoor seating area is a fantastic bonus, and the location in charming downtown Hickory just adds to the whole wonderful vibe. Highly recommend stopping by Hatch for a delicious meal!
