We LOVE Hat Creek! It’s such a great spot for an easy dinner with the kiddos! They can run around and play while you eat/sit/watch or I’ve even come to work here while my little rugrats run around. The food is always good quality and I love the fries here. For those people who love Coke… this is a Coke and not a Pepsi restaurant which makes me happy!

This is one of my daughter’s favorite restaurants that we go to. Mainly because of the playground and she can play with her friends there. This is actually the first time that we have actually been to the McKinney location so it was interesting to see some of the slight little changes in comparison to the one that’s closer to our house.

Overall, all the foods is the same. I find it a little bit a bit expensive for what you get. Thankfully the food does taste somewhat decent and if you like, you can compare it with beer or wine which is what most of the adults in our group did this night. One thing that most of the girls in our group complained about is the red wine was freezing good thing for white wine but not for red.

Overall, I’ll probably come here again because we have friends in this area and my daughter and their kids like this place. Just kind of wish the food wasn’t as expensive as it is but it is the world we live now but thankfully it does taste a lot better than McDonald’s.

This wad our first time here, and we were hardly impressed. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Our disappointment was in the food. We ordered the big hat burger, underseasoned and boring. We also ordered the bacon Royale ($15), as you can see by the pics, it was as if they smashed it flat, the patties are supposed to be 1/4 pound each. We tried the chicken nuggets , while tasty, no kid is going to eat those, with on over-fried appearance.
In general it was an OK, more disappointing, experience. Might come back, probably won’t.

We came here to meet up with two other families and have a play date. We sat inside and all ordered food. The food came out pretty quick and the kids and adults loved the food. (Our order was missing a kids fry, but the staff quickly replaced it!)

After dinner, we let the kids play outside and all of the adults were outside watching the kids. There were TONS of kids outside and all age ranges. There were some teenagers throwing a football and one of them threw the football and hit my two year old in the face. We quickly made sure our son was okay and told the kids not to throw the football.

Why were there older kids playing football in the play area? Where are the parents? We walked inside to see the parents drinking wine and beer. We told the staff and they didn’t know what to do (they were teenagers themselves.)

In my opinion, there should be some sort of policy with no footballs or other balls. Also, the staff should go outside every once in a while and make sure there are no playground violations. I believe it is the responsibility of the parents to police their kids, but it is also the responsibility of the restaurant to enforce the rules of the playground.

My boys and I enjoy this place, especially as my youngest has Celiac Disease. There are so few places that offer gluten free options. However Hat Creek charges an extra $2.99 for the gluten-free buns. I feel that restaurants should not charge extra for GF item’s, its not usually a choice to get Gluten-free. However their food is always fresh and is brought out quickly. And of course the playground is always a winner.

Such a great place for the family! The outdoor playground is great for the kids to play while the parents can enjoy talking. The food is always good and the menu is simple yet provides lots of options. My family loves the cheeseburgers and sweet potato fries.

Hat Creek Burger Company in McKinney, TX, is a fantastic spot for families and food lovers alike. They offer a variety of vegan options, making it a welcoming place for those with dietary preferences. The play area is a standout feature, with a spacious and fun setup that keeps kids entertained for hours. Little ones especially enjoy their grilled cheese, tater tots, and fries—classic comfort food done right.

The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and inviting, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Nestled in a wonderful neighborhood, Hat Creek McKinney is more than just a place to eat—it’s a community hub where families can gather, relax, and enjoy great food together. Definitely worth a visit!

This is one of our kids favorite places. We discovered it when they had to be gluten free for a year and it earned our love permanently.

The ingredients are quality. The meat and bread are fresh. The chicken and fries are seasoned. They have fried pickles! Their shakes are amazing .

If you have any kind of restricted diet, fear not. There are many options for you. The outdoor eating area is great and we usually sit out there so our kids can play. Even in Summer it’s shaded and cool. In fact the AC inside is too cold for me and I prefer the outside.

My recent carry-out order at Hat Creek Burger Company with high hopes of savoring some delicious buffalo wings and a chicken burger. Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired.

First and foremost, the buffalo wings I ordered were incredibly dry. It was evident that they had been overcooked, resulting in a disappointing texture. The dryness of the wings made them challenging to enjoy, and it was far from the succulent and flavorful experience I was hoping for.

To make matters worse, the appearance of the chicken wings was less than appetizing. They seemed as if they had been sitting around for a while, and the meat looked unappetizingly old and discolored. Additionally, there was an unpleasant smell emanating from the wings, which immediately raised concerns about their freshness.

The most concerning part of my experience was discovering that the wings had been fried a second time before being served to me. This suggested a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen and a disregard for the quality of the food being served to customers. Re-frying food not only affects its taste but can also make it less healthy.

All in all, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. I couldn’t help but compare the quality of the food at Hat Creek Burger Company to that of a fast-food chain like McDonald’s. While I’m not usually one to compare, in this case, McDonald’s nuggets and burgers seemed far superior in terms of taste and quality.

I hope that Hat Creek Burger Company takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the quality of their dishes. For now, I cannot recommend dining there, especially if you’re looking for delicious buffalo wings and chicken burgers.

In addition to the disappointing buffalo wings and chicken burger, I also ordered a side of fries with cheese at Hat Creek Burger Company. Unfortunately, this dish failed to meet even the most basic expectations.

Firstly, the fries were not served hot, which was a major letdown. I believe that a crucial aspect of enjoying fries is their temperature, and in this case, they were lukewarm at best. Cold fries can never match the satisfaction of hot, crispy ones.

Furthermore, the cheese topping on the fries was far from what I anticipated. It had not melted properly, leaving the cheese in a clumpy and unappetizing state. I was expecting a gooey and savory cheese experience, but instead, I was met with a lackluster and unimpressive topping.

Excellent variety of options, nice atmosphere and friendly customer service. The hot honey sauced chicken nuggets were delicious, love that fried chicken is gluten free in a safe frier. The dipping sauces were ok, but all tasted like similar versions of each other and weren’t super flavorful with the fries or chicken and could probably use more spices. Fries were very fresh and crispy
