Here at Harvest Smokehouse we smoke our meats low and slow on 100% applewood from Golden Harvest Farms. Our sides, sauces and cornbread are made from scratch each reflecting the bounty of the orchard. This is our style, and what we’ve come to affectionately call Orchard Barbecue.

Found this little place tucked in the little town of valatie. We were looking for pumpkins and stumbled across this great harvest store / distillery / smokehouse. This is literally a One-Stop shop. We got all of our pumpkins and gourds and some treats inside the store. Then we went over to The distillery and they had tastings. They have the John Henry whiskey and Cherry Brandy pear Brandy just to name a few. You can enjoy a flight of 3 for $6 a person which is very reasonable. I did end up walking out with the Cherry Brandy it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere in The distillery was also very cool. After The distillery we went to The smokehouse area and tried some smoked turkey and brisket. I also got a side of jerky fries with curry Mayo and let me tell you that was an amazing dish. All hand cut fries. I did not take pictures unfortunately but the food was absolutely amazing. The kind of service is you go order your food you wait for it at the counter and then you go seat yourself. There is a covered outdoor seating that has plenty of tables and chairs and also there is some seating in The smokehouse itself counter seating.

Came across this on a road trip. Such a great spot for lunch! The pineapple jerk chicken wings were delicious and a great price. The hogzilla sandwich has pulled pork, bratwurst, bacon, cheese, slaw and pickles. The combination of everything together was SO good. Everything tasted fresh. We visited the shop as well for an apple cider donut which was great! Would highly recommend!

I had the smoked baby back ribs and my wife had the pulled pork sandwich. We had the hand cut fries, coleslaw, and a corn muffin, which was very moist and plentiful. You had your choice of two different sauces for the ribs and pulled pork sandwich pulled pork sandwich came with, some sliced pickles and was put on a cider donut bun, which is different all in all the food was delicious

Everything about this place is magic. The orchard, the smokehouse and the distillery have I think the best thing going in town. The people are very friendly, the produce and baked goods are yum, try the smoked meats, cheeses, jams… The smokehouse has so much flavor and the distillery makes some real amazing drinks. All made fresh from farm goods. Stop in and thank your senses.

Pulled pork sandwich was good, but the brisket was inedibly dry. Also took over an hour to get our order. Seems like they could have a system going better than the one they have which consisted of two people assembling the orders while a line of 30 or so people were waiting.. but it seems to be a situation where they can phone it in if they want.

Harvest smokehouse which is at golden harvest farms! This is a great place to stop by to grab a snack, lunch, or dinner! I’ve tried the pulled pork sandwich on the cider donuts and bun and both are very good! The fries are also really good but have to be eaten right away or they will get soggy. They even have a distillery here where you can get drinks and don’t forget to get some apple cider donuts or pie to bring home before you leave!! They have a little something for everyone here!

on 9/26/25 I dined in with friends at 2:33 pm, the food was good, but my whole party had the same opinion of the girl who took our orders at the register. she was in a bad mood, very unfriendly, when you asked her a question, it was short to the point.

Everybody had to wait. i understand, but we chose to eat there, so one of 3 orders was ready, i was waiting patiently at the counter, and i tried to ask about the food multiple times, the front counter women just ignored me, even she wasn’t talking to any other customers. i put in at least 15% tip when i ordered the food. the service and attitude was horrible, never would go back again.

This used to be one of my favorite places to go. I am wondering if it’s under new ownership as the people who used to run the front end haven’t been there all year. As a result the customer service has declined significantly.
Despite a change in service and some inconsistency and food, I’ve visited this restaurant four times this season, chalking it up to either new staff that would improve or a fluke.
1. They don’t answer their phones so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to place a to go order. I’ve been there in person as the phone rings and they don’t pick up. It’s not that hard to pick up the phone and say “please hold”, finish up with the existing customer and then return to the phone to take an order.
2. I have had cuts of meat (brisket) that have been mostly fat.
3. Last night, two people in my group ordered a burger and fries, both severely overcooked. We couldn’t find any condiments for the fries or burger. When we asked if there was ketchup, they suggested that we go next-door and buy our own ketchup. We weren’t informed before ordering that they were not condiments to go with those items. That probably has to be the final straw for me in terms of going to this place.
