I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. The staff was super friendly and explained that there would be a wait for our food because they we very busy. This was much appreciated. We both enjoyed our food. I had the Croque Madame which was delicious. My Dad had the Hangover Bowl which he loved as well. Both of us brought food home, as we were stuffed. Will definitely be back!

Best restaurant in Kansas. Unquestionably the best breakfast that you will find on Highway 412 between Murphy and Dripping Springs. Endorsed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Two patrol cars there today!
It is a cozy, small town roadside café. Elvis, Coca-Cola and OU are well represented on the walls. Comfortable café ambiance. Excellent friendly service. And a perfect breakfast earns the Harvest House “The Best in Kansas!”

Sadly, I must report, due to inflation the Monday night Hamburger, served between 3PM and 8PM is now a pricy $2. It would be interesting to see what a $2 hamburger looks like.
Today’s best café table top advertisement recognition goes to Lollipop Meats. See the picture. The little calf in the picture is Lollipop. Lollipop recently participated in the Monday night $2 hamburger special. So, that is what a $2 hamburger looks like.
I know where they are! Now if I can get back on the highway before the Troopers finish breakfast, it will be a fast trip home!

The owners are community minded and take care of customers like they want to be treated! Breakfast is my favorite, but you really can’t go wrong with the menu!

The harvest house is a staple in Kansas, Oklahoma. This restaurant has been around for many years! Even with the new owners, the atmosphere remains as it always has, Friendly, Inviting, and great comfort for food! Our favorite times to go are their breakfast and we enjoy a $2 burger night for takeout occasionally!

Walked in and stood and waited for a table for an extended amount of time then finally asked the woman that was just sitting at register looking at us and she said oh just pick a table. So we sat down and waited 15 minutes before a waitress finally came over, but, she wasn’t planning on coming to our table because a group of 6 obvious locals came in and she was headed to that table I held up my hand she rolled her eyes and came over. Brought dirty menus to the table. We received our drink order relatively quickly. But, did wait a while for food as the table that came in after us and ordered after us got their food first. The shrimp was still cold in the center. French fries were very cold. The coleslaw was bad. The pie had been sitting uncovered for who knows how long in the cooler and tasted as such. Never received a refill on drinks. I definitely won’t be stopping by this location on my next trip to the river.

Long wait for the food but it was worth it. Our waitress was so nice and on point the whole time. Definitely make a stop here. The catfish was so good. The mac and cheese was delicious!

They really need a sign instructing customers to seat themselves so new customers aren’t standing in the doorway feeling stupid. I got frustrated with the wait and no one bothered to say anything until I asked. The employees weren’t necessarily rude, but they seemed to want to be anywhere else.
The food is okay at best. One thing I liked about my salad was the shredded lettuce. It made it much easier to eat than whole pieces and there weren’t any stems. The brisket sandwich looked and tasted old and the bun was too flimsy to support the filling.
The decor is cute. But the whole place needs a good cleaning. The bathroom was small and filthy and I hit my head on the paper towel dispenser, which was situated directly over the toilet.

Fried chicken was cold, not warm but cold. The okra felt like it came straight out of the fridge. Mashed potatoes were warm-ish.
When we complained, the waitress was only worried if we were going to pay. No apologies or offers to make it right.

The Harvest House has went down hill very fast in the past year. We have eaten there for years. Lately the food is way overpriced if they even get your order right. One order was supposed to have a baked potato, it had instant mashed potatoes. The salads had no cheese or tomato, they said they were out. The phone is off the hook all the time.
On a better note make the drive to (Twin Oaks) Spend your money at The Green Gate Grill. You will not be disappointed. They have Very good customer service and good home style cooking.
