Reviews
I’ve read the previous reviews and decided to give the place a try this morning
I’m puzzled about all the 5 star reviews. I can only imagine it amounts to this being the locals “favorite place” and that’s fine. If I’m looking at it objectively I just can’t rate it there. Other breakfast spots in Avon, Granby and Southwick MA all beat this place in my opinion
The food is decent enough. Toast was strangely Texas Toast thick (which is fine but unexpected). Breakfast is standard diner food, nothing overly special
Service was friendly once you got into the building as this place does have a wait (even on a Tuesday morning…also puzzling). Waiting for a seat for breakfast you would expect fancy. You would be incorrect There were AT LEAST 10 employees that I counted and they could barely keep up
This is a VERY blue collar atmosphere which you would not expect in Simsbury CT. I myself work a blue collar job…but the atmosphere is very cramped, with the clientele being mostly retired seniors and overweight middle aged family members dressed down.
In other restaurants you might see the occasional business professional, town lawyer, accountant etc in at least a dress shirt and chinos slacks with decent footwear. That is not what I witnessed
Today’s crew looked more like spectators or participants from a Sturgis Bike rally. Rough looking crew and overly noisy. Not a place you can concentrate on doing anything important on your phone or iPad. Tough to even concentrate on reading a newspaper with all the noise
The rear of the building where I had to park down a hill behind Simsbury Pharmacy is not worth the effort just to get to the food. The rear of the building looks like the Town dump…but maybe I’m not supposed to see that
I’d rate this as a place you can go to for a quick meal if you are driving through the area and you can easily get a parking spot on a slow day
Certainly not worth waiting in line just to get a seat as there is truly nothing special about it
There is counter seating 3 spots but you end up looking at cups of Crayola crayons (which I supposed are given to children while they wait for food)
No TV on the wall to watch while eating like similar establishments have. Not competitive
Priced HIGHER than other establishments in the local area
It’s an overly busy spot that is just not my atmosphere. I’ll try to stick to more low key atmosphere where the food is actually better and the service just as friendly
As a regular diner who cherishes the joy of a heartening breakfast, I am inclined to share my excellent encounter at the Harvest Cafe. Being a local favorite known for its fresh fare and charming ambiance, my friends and I decided to come here for our usual Saturday morning breakfast, and we left feeling fulfilled and seen.
Upon arrival, the cafe was buzzing with energy, bringing with patrons eagerly waiting for their meals. The atmosphere was vibrant, a perfect setting for a leisurely breakfast. The day’s experience was simply perfect.
Being directed to a cozy corner, we settled in, expecting an enjoyable start to our day. Our first blessing came in the form of swift order placement from a very attentive staff of servers. We found ourselves feeling visible and taken care of.
This was an extremely promising start, as always. The food was out in less than 20 minutes, and my coffee mug was never empty (free refills!). The food, when it arrived, was delicious, made better by the efficiency of the service.
The best part of this experience is our interactions with the manager. The manager is a very active member of the team, constantly checking in on his customers to ensure that everyone is having a wonderful experience.
I am well aware that a single customer’s satisfaction might very well affect the bustling business of Harvest Cafe because I will be coming here again and again and again. This review is not just about the business, it’s about shedding light on a wonderful experience and perfect establishment.
In the hospitality industry, the customer’s experience is paramount. While the food is a key aspect, the service and attitude of the staff can make or break the dining experience. In our case, the attentive response from the manager and wonderful service turned our much-anticipated breakfast into an incredible experience.
Every customer deserves to be heard and respected, especially when they have a legitimate concern. The Harvest Cafe succeeded in living up to this fundamental expectation. The manager’s positive attitude and sense of responsibility left our hearts warm and bellies full.
In conclusion, the Harvest Cafe is a local favorite for a reason. The combination of delightful food and staff makes for a beautiful start to the day. It’s a dining experience we’ll never forget and will keep repeating forever.
Scott, the general manager, is the hardest working guy in the restaurant business! He’s always on site, always super funny and friendly, always on point, and clearly loves what he does. His staff reflects that same energy: welcoming, attentive, and just awesome.
Our favorite dishes are the top-notch Foster and Gorgonzola Scrambles. Harvest Cafe also always has new specials and their French Toast and Pancake specials are always creative and delicious. And do NOT miss the homemade bread you can order with almost every meal (or purchase on your way out), because it’s amazing!
Harvest Cafe feels like home each and every visit. If you haven’t been, please check them out (they do get very busy on the weekends, so plan accordingly). You’ll be glad you did!
