ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOVE.
We originally had Blue Ocean in La Jolla, the sister restaurant, but Harumama is much closer to us and they have an almost identical menu and the food quality is incredible.
The beef bulgogi udon is impeccable, the noodles are amazing and overall the dish is SO flavorful. The chicken katsu is so juicy but also crispy at the same time, the salad that comes with it is amazing and the peanut sauce is so good I could lick it off the plate.
The service was wonderful and the environment was lovely.
We come here a few times a month, definitely a top 3 spot in SD for us.

Ordered the lunch package as I haven’t eaten all day just arrived from Denver!
I got the Me So Hot! and seaweed salad. The soup is flavorful with the spicy peanut taste and roasted brussel sprouts. I also ordered watermelon for drinks which I thought it’s a real watermelon juice but it’s still tasty. And some character buns to go.
The lady who helped me was super nice and friendly, she explains things patiently and clearly.
Overall, service is great, food is okay.

Although I didn’t dine in, I ordered takeaway—and even from that brief experience, I could feel how much heart went into this place. The restaurant is crafted with care, down to the smallest detail. The staff’s warmth and hospitality were exceptional, and the flavors? Truly beyond my imagination. Every bite felt thoughtful and comforting. A gem in Little Italy that radiates passion and precision.

Dined in for lunch on a Tuesday. The food was DELICIOUS. Buns were yummy and salmon poke bowl was great.

Service was AWFUL. There were three of us and we all got served at wildly different times. I got the poke bowl and was served first. Ramen bowl came 20 min after that. The poor person who ordered buns had to wait a whopping hour and a half. If we hadn’t come specifically for the buns we would have left way before that.

It was not busy when we went either, but did appear to have minimal staff.

Best looking and tasting Ramen in town this one is called the flying pig and the California roll , they now have a combo any house Sushi roll and Ramen for $19 I think it’s a great deal . Personally the atmosphere is pleasant

Definitely not a place to go if you’re looking for authentic Japanese food. It’s fine for the price point but uninspiring. The salmon sashimi was unnervingly warm (we didn’t get food poisoning but we were nervous). The tonkatsu ramen was really average with a strange fragrance and weirdly served with chicken? (Tonkatsu is pork so why is the protein chicken?). Do pay attention to the hot pepper markings. They are not kidding when they say it’s spicy! We thought it would be Japanese spicy but the spicy aioli sauce knocked our socks off. The animal theme baos are cute and fairly tasty. They advertise their novelty drinks strongly but they are very artificial and sugary tasting so we barely touched ours. Overall it was an OK experience but not something to seek out.

We friendly service. We got a lot of veggie options to choose from. The sweet steamed bunny was a must try for the little ones. Harumama Ramen has yummy and refreshing veggie food in the Little Italy area

I was so looking forward to this place. Stopped at lunch. Wait staff is excellent the mango green tea was good but the heavy reliance on mayonnaise was disappointing. The porkbelly bao buns had taste but had so much sauce it masked the flavor. I ordered the dragon roll and same thing happened plus the roll was fishy and so salty i couldn’t eat it.

Hands down the best fusion Japanese restaurant in Little Italy. The dishes are truly unique and unlike anything I’ve had before.
