The best sushi I have had. The Toro was sublime and beautifully prepared and presented. Appetizer sashimi, specialty rolls with and without rice, and nigiri were all excellent, flavorful and deliciously delicate.
Highly skilled sushi chef.
Artistic and beautiful presentation.
Superior quality of fresh fishes.
Great choices and options.
Superior attentive and friendly service.
My dining partner also ordered one of the noodle dishes, and it was bursting with flavor and textures (no photo), which I would also recommend.
I will definitely return as often as I can!

This place is newly opened, but already a gem. Delicious, innovative rolls, great appetizers (I was initially skeptical when my friend ordered jalapeno poppers but they made it their own — they were so delicious!), and IMPECCABLE, attentive service. Aaron was a perfect waiter who gave great recommendations and made us feel at home. They gave my friend a big birthday treat, and even sang happy birthday tableside! Have your next birthday lunch or dinner here, everything was fresh and tasty.

We’ve had dragon roll and large sushi plate / basically 24 pieces of super fresh fish – 8 different variations. Service was outstanding where waitress explained everything. Sushi plate was accompanied by edible flowers to clean taste buds between different fish and real house made wasabi! Rainbow roll was fresh and delicious. Overall great food and experience, will definitely be back again.

Fantastic sushi spot! The flavors were fresh and bold, with generous portion sizes that hit the sweet spot. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the prices? Surprisingly reasonable for the quality. The newly remodeled interior adds a sleek, modern vibe—clean lines, cozy lighting, and a stylish touch that makes dining in feel like a treat. Definitely coming back for more!

Fantastic food and lovely wait staff, they were really nice to communicate with and helpful with explaining the menu and ingredients to us, definitely a must stop to anyone in the Pasadena area or visiting, we’ll definitely be returning here, sadly they didn’t have many gluten free options for my mom, so she got a cucumber roll and sashimi bowl, I got the eel bowl, that was absolutely delicious the eel was so favorable and comes right off the skin! Heavenly!! It’s been so long since I’ve had japanese food, we all loved Haruka.

Wow. Where do I even start. I am so blown away by the incredible experience I had at Haruka. The energy of the staff struck me the moment I walked in the door, as I was greeted by Bibi who I had a lovely conversation with. I was extremely impressed with not only Bibi, but the rest of the staff as well. They work together to create the experience for their guests, and it’s clear that professionalism and teamwork is important. Choosing from the array of mouth-watering menu items was difficult. I leaned on my prior dining experience and chose to start with the Deep Fried Shishito Peppers, followed by the Vegas Roll. Both were phenomenal. The peppers were prepared differently than what I expected, but after a few bites I quickly realized there was a flavor bonanza in my mouth. I credit this mostly to the beautiful sauce they were served in, which was thin and a little tangy. The peppers themselves were crunchy yet succulent. They would be hard to beat, but my sushi roll fell nothing short of amazing. It was lightly crunchy, and the cream cheese came through to the palette perfectly. I washed both of these down with the house sake which was predictably yummy. At this point I was still feeling hungry, so I ordered the other contender for my appetizer, which was the Sunomono Cucumber Salad. Again, not the presentation I was expecting, but still good. Crisp and refreshing, but nothing to write home about. To finish off with something sweet, I ordered the Tempura Green Tea Ice Cream. I unfortunately left 90% of it on the plate, but I would have ate it all if I could! I was not having the best day when I came to Haruka, but I left feeling a warm glow in my chest. I am not from here and when I go back to my hometown I will tell everyone about my experience. It was truly lovely. I wish I could stay in Pasadena long enough to try the whole menu. Thank you so much! – Kate

1st time here, service was great. Host was very detailed regarding their menu. Had their Tuna Toro and it was amazing. Flavor and texture was on point. Had some other rolls and side dishes that were ok.

The sushi here is fresh! We ordered the omakase, which came with 9 different types, including my favorite, toro! We also ordered a dragon roll, soft shell crab, and KBBQ ribs lol. Weird, I know, but the KBBQ ribs exceeded my expectations. I wasn’t a huge fan of their tempura though.
The dining area is spacious, and the decor is modern. Service was great too! I would come back.
I came in at around 8 p.m. for dinner. Half of their parking lot is filled with Tesla chargers. If you don’t go during peak hours, you should be able to find a spot.

The servers were so nice, helpful, and quick with everything from our waters to the check. They gave us complimentary sashimi! The food came out so fast we were consistently shocked-there was virtually no wait time. The sashimi (seared salmon) was melt-in-your-mouth soft but still had a good texture. The flavor was delicate and delicious. The California roll is rich and buttery and the spicy tuna was simple but tasty. We’ll definitely be coming back again!
