We stopped here our first time headed to Kentwood. Don’t let this little hole in the wall fool you. This is the best barbecue that we have tried. I got the half of a chicken with green salad and baked beans not to mention. The baked beans were delicious. My hubby got the ribs, coleslaw and baked beans. The coleslaw is delicious as well. The sweet tea was delicious no complaints there. Customer Service was amazing and friendly. so do not skip on this little restaurant, you will not be disappointed. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The barbecue sauce was delicious . Taste like home cooked not a fast restaurant. The prices are very reasonable on these items on their menu.

The place is nice and clean and the young people that work there are very kind
We ask for cheeseburger and cajun fries with Dr. Pepper and Iced tea.
Everything was very tasty and the drinks were refill.

This was my first time visiting Hart’s but it won’t be my last. First of all, ask for Ms. Christy!! She is amazing. Ms. Christy greeted me as soon as the door opened. I told her I had no idea what I wanted to order – she gave me a menu, offered suggestions, and provided a welcoming smile.
The young lady who actually took my order wasn’t as friendly and she slammed my card on the counter which is the only reason I deducted 1 star from service. I handed her the receipt and pen in her hand, but she slammed my card again when I made a 2nd order.
Now, the food review:
1. PULLED PORK NACHOS!!! 10/10
The pulled pork was delicious all by itself… seasoned well, melt in your mouth but combined with nachos OMG AMAZING
It was so good I ate 1/2 of the nachos before I realized I forgot to add the barbecue sauce.
Thank you Ms Christy for recommending them!!
She was eating nachos on her break and it looked so good I had to order. She even offered me a bite of her nachos to taste.
2. Fish on a Bun 7/10. The fish was seasoned well and the condiments were fresh. I prefer my fish fried a little harder, especially for a sandwich. That’s my only complaint. Overall, good sandwich!
3. Rib & Brisket Plate 9/10! The ribs and brisket were delicious, without barbecue sauce. The meat was tender, melt in your mouth… the potato salad and baked beans were fresh, delicious. I usually don’t eat onions in my potato salad but it was GOOD! Oh, and the barbecue is awesome
I can’t wait to order more food off the menu.

If you travel through or anywhere near Kentwood, La and you have a love for Brisket or BBQ you must visit this family owned restaurant.
They serve the most AMAZING brisket that I have ever tasted anywhere. Great flavor, fall apart tender, and so so delicious!
And for an appetizers they have a great selection. We tried the fried green beans. These were great. My favorite sides were the loaded baked potato salad and their green beans. Both were so so good!
I live an hour away and since discovering Hart’s a few months ago we make a point to go once or twice a month. The 1 lb larger brisket plates comes to about $16. (You have a choice of 1/2 lb or 1 lb plates) And it is worth every $. One plate can easily make two meals for me which is great.
The menu has lots of other good selections as well so I look forward to trying out some of those too. Like the Po-boy sandwiches.

In all fairness, we have eaten here on many occasions, but today….They were fairly busy and I had never seen many of the ppl working there. Anyway to get to the rating. We ordered 2 chicken plates one 1/4, one 1/2. The 1/4 was supposed to be white meat, so it went back and they put a little larger than 1/2 of a 1/2 breast and a wing so burnt it couldn’t be chewed. One plate was ordered with fries and beans, one with beans and SC potato salad. There were a total of about 12 fries on the plate. The beans were good and hot. They put the wrong potato salad on the plate but I chose to just eat it..not my fav, but some would like it. We also ordered 2 teas, one unsweet, one sweet. Neither was sweet. I took it to the counter and the lady graciously emptied and refilled the cup with the same “sweet” tea. It wasn’t sweet, so, I said, “Sweetie, you need to taste the tea because it hasn’t been sweetened. So she told another lady and indeed, the sugar was still where it had been measured. While sweetening the tea, I heard her asking if someone had complained and the following comments. When we left, we went to Sonic and got some food! While we were there, they messed up at least three other orders. We actually left there and went straight to Sonic. If not for previous visits, I would have given 1 star.
