We ended up at Harry’s Italian on a Saturday night — mostly for practical reasons — and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Sometimes the unplanned meals are the best ones.

We ordered penne with meat sauce and a Pizza Margherita, and both dishes were hearty and flavorful. If anything, there was a bit too much meat sauce, but that’s hardly a complaint when the food tastes this good.

The portions were generous, the service friendly, and the atmosphere relaxed — a nice break from the hustle of downtown Manhattan. It was also one of the more reasonably priced dinners we had during the trip, which made it taste even better.

A solid, satisfying Italian spot that delivers great value for money.

Good value, location, and no waiting on a Friday night.

Also, huge portions, and if you like thin-crust square pizza, definitely give it a try. We both got a drink, appetizer, and whole pizza and came out to be around $30 a person. For the location and decor, it was definitely worth it.

Summary: if you want to waste your money and get sick buy the very noticeable microwaved lasagna and the spaghetti shrimp marinara.

Don’t usually leave reviews but… here we are 🙂
We chose this restaurant because it was very close from where we were heading to, and who doesn’t love good Italian food, we read the reviews and thought the place was good.

We got there, there were few people, so good sign right?
Waiter was nice, asked if we had any questions about the menu etc.
We got two dishes the lagsana and spaghetti shrimp marinara.

Both dishes when they came looked alright, but we ended up no eating the whole dish. The shrimp spaghetti dish: the shrimp noticeably came out of the frozen bag, plain spaghetti, and seemed like they just put the tomato sauce from a can. 0/10, flavorless.
The lasagna was the worst one, meat tasted old, and looked like just came from the freezer and was put on the microwave. -100/10, same as the spaghetti, the tomato sauce was like out of the can, the only fresh thing was the parsley and cheese on top but the whole thing tasted terrible. Even college food tastes better.

We then got the check and we didn’t read the bad reviews so we found out about the magic 4% if you use credit card. Lucky we had cash, the bill ended up being about 54 ish plus tax, for two dishes and 2 sodas. We didn’t send the food back, we took the L today but…

Never again, but good luck! 🙂

PS: Our waiter was nice and service was acceptable but the food was so bad our experience was overall one star. Negative if we could put it.

Chicken marsala
I came to NYC hoping for good food, left a bit disappointed, granted it was “winter storm fern”
That being said I have made chicken marsala myself which was much better than this water noodle mess.
The staff however are friendly and attentive.

We were at Brooklyn bridge and wanted to look for place to eat and celebrate new year on the new year eve.
Found this place through google.

Food was delicious, service is good.
I especially love the pasta…

We had a good time there and very happy.

We paid total about US$190 for 4 pax ( 20% tips on NYE)
I don’t know how the final bill came up to be $190 vs $183 though…

The food was good but it was a bit pricey. I ordered the shrimp parm and added chicken with pasta and it was a whopping $40..I ordered a Ceasars salad $12 and soda water (preferably from the bar) but he brought me a bottle of pellegrino $8..they added a 4% ($2+) surcharge on top of the bill for using a credit card. So for my meal plus tip $77..My Sis ordered the square pizza with sausage and a lunch portion of shrimp and asparagus, glass of Moscato and her bill was almost $65 not including surcharge and tip. The pizza was very good but needed more sauce as well as the asparagus dish. So if ur cool with pricing then u won’t be disappointed with the taste.
Also, there was an unsanitary thing that happened…they brought out my sis pizza-and she went to grab a piece and lifted it to put on her plate until we noticed toppings she ain’t ask for…and they brought out my dish to which I began to take pictures and noticed no shrimp..the waiter came over and said we had the wrong orders..to which he took the two dishes and proceeded to give to right customers sitting behind us..he should have really took those dishes back to kitchen to remake since we literally salivated over the plates for a couple of minutes.

Harry’s Italian Pizza Bar is a true gem! The food was absolutely phenomenal—every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The pizzas were a perfect blend of crispy and chewy with toppings that tasted incredibly fresh. Beyond the amazing food, the atmosphere was just right: vibrant, welcoming, and full of energy. The staff were attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. This is a must-visit for anyone looking for top-notch food and a fantastic dining environment.

Very friendly service. Food was served quickly and was hot. Good sized portions. I had lasagne but I am not a fan of pork mince so not to my taste. We also had the plain cheesecake which needed a touch of fruit syrup as it was a little dry

Spent two weeks in Manhattan and this was the BEST Pizza and Pasta we had in the time…. Taken there by a local and I see why.

Pizza – the kids are still raving about it.
Penna alla Vodka – I dont like booze in my food – this was AMAZING. I have not see this in the UK (or ignore it) and now will select this everytime.

Portions were big – very big….

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
