What a gem of a place! This small-town Southern seafood restaurant truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home.
The star of the meal was the fried seafood platter—crispy, golden perfection with every bite. The fish was flaky, the shrimp were sweet and tender, and the clams were the best we’ve had in ages. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, as if it had come straight from the dock to the fryer.
We also tried the Eastern-style North Carolina barbecue, and it was outstanding—perfectly seasoned, tangy, and slow-cooked to melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. The smoky flavor and vinegar-based sauce struck just the right balance.
What made the experience even better was the service. The staff were kind, attentive, and clearly took pride in their work. It’s rare to find such a combination of down-home charm and top-notch food.
Plenty of parking available in the parking lot.
If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. This place is a true culinary treasure.

Came in around 600pm, we specifically asked if they could serve us within an hour, we had football homecoming to attend.. they said yes.. it was a local casual laid back area, you pick your table.. the waitress came got our drink order… We then ordered literally the easiest items to cook to make it quicker.. there was 1 lit girl & 3 adults.. it took an hour to get our food & before it was done we knew we had to go or miss seeing my granddaughter walk homecoming, requested it be boxed that took an extra 15 mins so waited over an hour for subpar food that I paid with a 30% tip close to 70 dollar’s.. I don’t mind paying for good food, even hot food but greasy, hard stringy inedible food, not happiness.. how hard could it be with a salad, it was only 3 sandwiches and French fries, mozz sticks.. so”” a salad bar for $12 bucks all you can eat was small lit bowl, with mainly lettuce available.. definitely not worth the cost unless your a rabbit.. the cheeseburger was hard, meat tasted off & it was cold, the shrimp sandwich was probably the most tough, hard overcooked shrimp I’ve ever eat. ( And yes being a Dare co resident all my life I can critique) ..for how can you mess that up when you run a restaurant off the sound and lake… the side baked potato was the best item, it literally tasted out fresh out of the oven maybe you should become a bake potato bar??? .. my daughter had cheese sticks which were greasy gross overcooked pencils, yuck.. the grill cheese sandwich for my granddaughter would of been ok if it had been hot.. the French fries were cold & had a bad like old frozen fries reheated taste.. the young lady who took my money and chatted with us was really sweet and kind.. I couldn’t blame her for bad cooks and outrageous wait time.. she only brings it out.. so keep the servers get new cooks.. I know being local owned the community will continue supporting you.. but if your visiting or going thru don’t waste your money until you attempt to serve better food it’s not right to future customers..

Good dinner! I had hamburger steak. It was decent size with cheese on; first time like that. Onions could have been caramelized a little more. The salad bar was very good. Shout out to chicken salad; very yummy! Great thing they let you choose salad bars as one of your sides; the other side mash potatoes of course. Gray was very good. Hadn’t been here since prom night 1989. Fun reminiscing. Go Lakers!

Stayed next door for a hunt and we ate here both nights. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was good and cheap! A burger, fries and drink for less than $13. Even the salad bar was nice. Cool little spot. You would like it’d be a gimmick due to it’s location but it’s legit.
