Nice little spot for food & beverages. Friendly staff, good food. We sat outside & it was a comfortable atmosphere with light music, very relaxing. We had devil poppers & bacon corn chowder (special) to start. Fall burger, Turkey Apple White Cheddar & side of roasted sweet potatoes with almonds/honey. Dessert was Churro Cheesecake

Wonderful out of the way bar/pub in side street of Middletown not far from Wesleyan. I felt like I was in Scotland, it had that much atmosphere. Not pretentious or bossy, just relaxed comfortable, dark stone and brick vibe. The place is small and it can be hard to get a table. I had a maple smoked old fashion made just right amount of smoke. We shared a arugula salad and a grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia roll. Both were beyond our expectations and I highly recommend their string fried onion rings! Excellent!! Service was very good too. The menu does have some entrees and there is restaurant style table seating up-stairs which is quieter and less dark. But I will always choose the tavern space.

We had an office party here. Food and drinks were delicious. Heather was our bartender and she was on top of it all and did a fantastic job.

Easily one of the best brunch spots in Connecticut. Amazing service, great location, and the best food.

We’ve never had a complaint and love the great menu options.

Cannot recommend enough, just keep an eye out that it’s street parking and you’ll have to plan accordingly.

OMG! You can say a salad is just a salad but l, you would be wrong!!! Trying to eat better. Ordered the house salad and soup of the day (Corn Chowder). These guys are the sooo good. If you havent tried this place go now. HEALTHY and not so healthy recommended. NOTHING BAD. They are attentive, engaging and personable. 10 stars. So glad I live less than a mile away.#yeah baby.

Caesar dressing was the best I’ve ever had! Very Delicous, generous portion and definitely worth it. I also had the deviled eggs poppers and those were just as amazing ! The drinks were heavenly! I wish I could add pictures!
Will definitely be going back

First time here. So glad we tried it! We sat in the basement for lunch. Very quaint. Not a ton of seating but just how we like it. Nice bar area as well. The food was fresh and hot. The tables around us had an excellent selection of food as well, everything looked so good! We’ll be back!

Pretty good little bar. Very cool looking and feeling. Looks very deceiving from out side and it location in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
But a must visit for quite social vibe.
Im a real boy.

The absolute best sandwiches in town! Don’t get me wrong the delis are good, but these are works of art. BCP’s are a mind blowing invention that must be had to appreciate. Must include our fave cocktail, “El Warden” a ghost peper infused tequila creation. Speaking of the warden, the unique atmosphere here is part speakeasy – part dive bar. Did I mention the bar is in the basement of a legit historical prison!

Amazing experience. Came here with my father and we both had nothing but great things to say. When we walked in, everyone turned around and greeted us with a smile and we felt so welcomed. Our waitress was so kind and helpful. Food and drinks were amazing and had very generous portion sizes. We had espresso martinis, hot potato fries (fries with buffalo sauce and bleu cheese), the southern BLT, and the Mean Green Caesar. Highly recommend.
