Reviews
During our visit, security approached without warning and immediately became physical. There was no attempt at a calm conversation, no clarification of the situation — just force. When I repeatedly asked what was going on, I was told it “didn’t matter.” That response alone speaks volumes about the level of professionalism and accountability.
Watching my sister be handled that way was incredibly upsetting. The aggression and dismissive attitude toward women was both shocking and unacceptable.
Women should not have to worry about being grabbed or shoved, especially when they are already in the process of leaving. Basic respect and decency should be the standard, not the exception.
I sincerely hope management takes a hard look at how their security team interacts with female patrons and implements meaningful changes. Until then, I would strongly encourage women to think carefully about whether this is an environment where they feel safe and respected.
I want to share my experience at Harpo’s so other women are aware and can make informed decisions.
Without any prior conversation or explanation, security came up behind me and began physically dragging me while I was already on my way out. I was pushed down the stairs and shoved onto the ground outside. When my sister repeatedly asked why this was happening, the response was essentially that it “didn’t matter” because they were closing.
No woman should be physically handled this way without clear cause, communication, or respect. Being forcefully grabbed, dragged, and pushed is not acceptable conflict resolution.
If you choose to go out, please stay aware, stay together, and advocate for yourselves and each other. If something feels wrong, speak up. Document everything. Support the women around you.
We deserve professionalism. We deserve safety. We deserve to be treated with dignity.
I won’t be returning, and I encourage women to prioritize venues that prioritize their safety.
