We’ve been to Harper House a couple of times, many moons ago when it was located in Hopkinsville…but never made it up to Cadiz when they relocated until last November. I didn’t take any photos during that trip for this review and since everything about Harper House said, “Come on back and get some more.” we decided to get back up there for another round.
Reservations were for 7pm and we got there a tad early, but were seated promptly and probably right at 7pm…I wasn’t checking my watch.
We started off with a basket of their fried pickles (last time we started with the Group Grazing Board, but we had more in our party). They came out from the kitchen quickly and there’s a really good portion for the price. They weren’t as crispy as they could be, but they were really tasty. They came with a house made ranch dipping sauce that was just what we expected…ranch sauce.
They did bring out some of their house cornbread as well with strawberry butter. I’m not a fan of cornbread all in all unless it comes in muffin form with cheese and jalapenos to eat with some pinto beans…but this was good. Had a hint of sweetness to it as well, which went well with the strawberry butter.
My wife ordered the 7oz center cut filet mignon but she subsituted the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts for Harper House Mac-n-Cheese and Crispy Red Potatoes. Initially, the filet came out slightly underdone, but they quickly made it right. She really liked it, said that it was exactly what a filet should be…and the peppercorn demi glaze made it that much better.
I ordered the ribeye and kept the sides as is (baked potato & thin cut crispy onion strings). This was a super flavorful cut with an insanely rich, bold flavor and just the right amount of fat marbled throughout the cut.
If you live right there in Cadiz and haven’t been to Harper House, head over there to grab a bite. If you live down I24, you owe it to yourself to make the 30 minute drive and give it a shot. It’s well worth the trip.

First time coming to Harper House walked in a talked to the 2 ladies they were nice and welcoming I sat down looked over them menu again one of the servers brought out the cornbread with strawberry butter it was really good I ordered the Crab cakes and they were really good as well they were 2 for 2 so far then I ordered the HH Shrimp and Grits I would have given them 5 stars for the food but the Shrimp and bacon in my opinion were the problem looked like the boiled the shrimp with no seasoning and then just added them to the sauce I wish they could’ve grilled them or sauteed them and some of the bacon was cooked perfectly and other pieces weren’t consistent…. I ordered the Vanilla creme brulee and that was delicious as well overall it was a great experience I will be back again to try something else

Our first visit to the Harper House in Cadiz was for my birthday. The atmosphere was perfect, we sat at a booth by the bar. The servers/bartenders, Sterling & Logan, were amazing, they helped us with our drink & dinner selections. They made my birthday even more special by their enjoyable & kind attitudes. I ordered the Queen Anne’s Revenge drink & it was awesome & my husband had a craft beer that was great. The cheese curds that we ordered as an appetizer were terrific. Free cornbread and strawberry butter was served before dinner & it was excellent. My entree was the coconut butterfly shrimp & fries which was superb. My husband had the voodoo pasta and he said it was extremely tasty. He loved it. The cake we had for dessert was the lemon blueberry mascarpone which was absolutely amazing. The whole night was so perfect. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Fine dining with a relaxed atmosphere. Excellent fresh food including homemade recipes. The skillet cornbread & deviled eggs with candied bacon were a great start to our dinner. The steak (filet) was very good so was the homemade carrot cake (hundred year old recipe!) kid friendly as well. Large variety of drinks, alcohol & nonalcoholic. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, continuing to check on us and refill drinks too.

Just Wow !! Starting with the building 10/10 what an awesome design. We were quickly greeted and seated at dinner time. We were put with a waitress by the name of Jayne and she was Outstanding!! She gave us the spill on the daily special and answered all of our questions. Everything she suggested and how she described the food was just that !! It’s so hard finding a restaurant where you leave in Ahh , however I CAN NOT say anything but great things in this place. I will be sharing my experience and recommending Harper House to everyone!! We can’t wait to come back.

We had a 630 reservation but arrived at the door at 550pm. The front desk seated us at 6:03 due to front house being very vacant. We placed our order at 615 at 645 we still had no entrees. The waitress kept coming by and saying it be a little longer it was due to a special event in the back is why it was taking little longer. Well if that was the case it shouldn’t have effected the front house service provided however it did. We live just outside Nashville and drove up for a special date as its been few years since we have visited but I think this visit was our last. Date evening ruined. Wonderful decor and atmosphere but completely horrendous service. We actually received our bill before our food was delivered. Shocker. We will not be back.
