Went here on a Saturday night and it was busy. They have a nice menu, and the waitress reads the specials to you. I was torn between ordering baby back ribs, stuffed shells with sausage or their pork chop special which was sage and Parmesan crusted. My partner and I both ordered the pork chop.
Originally we were going to do an app of their breaded mushrooms, but when the waitress reads that today’s soup with cream of mushroom we both decided we would do that as an appetizer instead.
However these dinners come fully loaded. With your dinner plate, you get bread, soup, salad AND potato and then your meal.
We ate the cream of mushroom soup and it was tasty. Had large slices of mushrooms. The fresh bread was soft. The salad was small but perfect size for the amount of food you were getting. When dinner was plated it included TWO pork chops with your baked potato or steak fries and apple sauce. The pork chop was sooo juicy and tasty. Baked potato was normal and the steak fries were the same. Fries needed seasoning. But overall it was good. We ordered a slice of the coconut cream pie to share and it was huge but also very good.
Would 100% return. Prices fair!

There’s a reason Harold’s has been a beloved spot for so long. The consistently outstanding cuisine speaks for itself. We particularly enjoyed both pork dishes and a slice of chocolate cream pie of course. Beyond the food, the staff’s warm welcome and the charming, iconic blue booths create a truly inviting atmosphere. For a reliable and delicious meal, Harold’s is a must.

Went for their fabulous fish and friends had the scallop dinner and specialty hot sandwiches washed down with a great dirty martini. As usual waitress was very attentive and professional. Thank heavens she didn’t refer to us as ….”you guys!” The evening with friends was delightful. Now I have to return for the lamb chops and shrimp scampi.

I’ve lived in NYC, Tucson AZ, and currently DC but have always called Upstate NY (Gloversville in particular) home. Of the many excellent restaurants I have visited, I must say Harold’s could hold it’s own in any city and it is so great to have such a hidden gem in my hometown. You will not be disappointed in the service, food, prices, and especially the dessert. The varieties of cream pies = heavenly.

We have gone here for decades, last time Valentine’s Day, and as always, absolutely everything was wonderful! The waitresses (aka dessert chef!) are great, everyone tried to make tour time there so enjoyable. The pork chops are perfect everything, the scallops were outstanding, the pie… We are so grateful they stayed open during the pandemic and remain one of our all time favorite places. Thank you Harold and staff, you make people happy.

We had the haddock, trout & Delmonico steak. The pork chop was gorgeous. All fantastic, well seasoned & large portions. Housemade NE clam chowder came with my meal, it was on-point.

Best banana cream pie on earth & I’m a pie maker. Rice pudding like mom makes. Never disappointed & always happy to return.

Absolutely delicious. We had heard of harolds and being true foodies and great cooks we traveled an hour for dinner. We were not disappointed. Everything we had from soup to fresh salad, delicious bread and scampi that was perfection. Melt in your mouth filet cooked to perfection. Lobster to die for. Omg and dessert.. . .we all shared, we were soooo full!! Do not miss this gem of a restaurant.
