You can never visit Chicago without stopping at a Harold’s Chicken! This Express location is mainly takeout. Seating is available, but it’s mostly for waiting for your order.
Once I looked over the menu, I was ready to order. I’ll be honest, the ordering process was a little awkward at first. It was hard to tell if the cashier was ready, and I got a very faint “may I help you.” I placed my order, and there was no response at first, which made me laugh a little. After a short pause, she entered the order. When I asked a question about a few of the menu items, the response was very brief. Not the warmest interaction, but hey, I was there for the food.
And the food absolutely delivered! We ordered a 10-piece wing dinner with fries, catfish dinner with fries, and fried okra. Each order came with their signature white bread and “mini” Cole slaw.
Everything came out hot, fresh, and cooked just right. Nothing was overcooked, the seasoning was on point, and the sauce was perfect, not too thick and not too thin.
“Mmm delicious” is truly an understatement. Despite the minimal customer service, the food quality alone makes this spot worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want classic Harold’s flavor done right.

Ordered 2-7 pc chicken wing dinners with mild sauce.
Food was up in a matter of about 20-25 minutes. Presentation was totally inviting. Yummy hot golden wings / fries with just the right amount of sauce. (drenched)
Wings were crunchy and juicy.
The fries were perfect. Oh let’s not leave out that hidden slice of bread that was at the bottom covered in that special Harold’s secret sauce. Entire meal was chef’s kiss of carry out. Simply delicious.
I’ve heard that this is the best location. I tend to agree.

I have been searching for a good Harold’s since the location on 14th and Michigan closed down. Before trying any restaurant, l always read the reviews. Despite the 3.9 rating, I decided to give this location a try and I was highly impressed! I went around 6pm on New Year’s Eve and baby it was CROWDED, so I knew the food was going to be HOT & FRESH!! AND IT WAS!!! I ordered 4 wings fried hard with mild sauce and black pepper. The wings were crispy and tasted so clean – no funny aftertaste. The fries were cooked to perfection. Their mild sauce was good, not too tart or sweet. My wait time was roughly 30 minutes which wasn’t bad at all considering the day. The cashier and other staff were pleasant – nobody had a stank attitude. Overall, my experience was AWESOME⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hey just got my order at this location today for the first time in the am . The customer service was good but I wish the lady at front god bless her heart listened closely I told her mild sauce on my food and lemon pepper seasoning. Thank god I ordered an extra mild sauce but imagined If i didn’t and the sauce wasn’t enough since it w/out as seen in the photo . Ugh I really don’t like dry Harold’s . I had a side of okra but again lack of lemon pepper seasoning was missing which was what I asked for . So I’ll come back again for a redo . The pros my chicken was fresh and food was hot. If you’re deciding to come make sure to YELL and triple check your food . They was busy and they ran out plastic bags but that wasn’t a major issue . The lady at the front and who gave my order was nice so I extend grace and I’ll try again when I’m out that way . Still rooting for this business because it’s suppose to be the best location .

I’m a truck driver who works out of Chicago and I was bobtailing and I decided hey, it’s right off the freeway, why not stop here to grab something to eat. I loved it. Chicken was hot and fresh. My only regret was not getting extra mild sauce. I’d come back.

I liked the chicken here better than at the downtown location. The place doesn’t have much seating, and while it may look like it has a drive-thru, it doesn’t. I can definitely see why this chain is a staple in Chicago.

Almost skipped this location but, glad I stopped here! It was a Wednesday night around 9:30pm and the food was hot and fresh and they understood the heavy with the sauce assignment!! Got 7 wings dinner for 13$ this includes credit card charge, &tax
