I’ve been going past Harlan’s my entire life and had never stopped in until last night. Dang have I been missing out. Right when we entered we were greeted in a very friendly manner, seated right away, and had our drink order taken promptly. All of the staff we interacted with were incredibly personable and friendly. Special shoutout to our waitress, Ashton. She did exceptional at her job and both my wife and I enjoyed visiting with her! The food was delicious! We had the Appetizer Heaven to get a wide selection, and each part was as good as the last. I ordered the ribs and really enjoyed them. They were tender, meaty, and had great flavor. My wife had the honey chicken breast and thought it was amazing. Very moist chicken and a great honey mustard sauce that wasn’t overpowering. We also had to try their famous chicken, and it too was fantastic! Despite being quite full, we saved a little room for desert, ordering the lemon meringue and Boston cream pie. Yum! We will definitely be returning soon!

I have frequently visited this establishment since I was a teenager still in high school because it was good affordable food, but today I wanted to make sure I shared how wonderful the experience was. I brought my two toddlers in for breakfast and they are a pretty rowdy pair most of the time. Harlan’s is one of the few places that never makes me feel out of place bringing them along they provide adorable little coloring sheets with crayons and have a very affordable kids menu. This morning my fiancé is out of town and I am missing him hard, wishing he was with us for breakfast and they have been so extremely hospitable to me the food was absolutely on point as always. My steak was prepared perfectly—so tender and tasty! Michelle was so sweet to me and my children this morning, I will truly never forget the kindness and prompt service she provided us this morning. Harlan’s is a QC staple and I have no doubt that the community will help ensure it stays that way!

A lovely diner experience with a full menu. We tried the 1B breakfast with bacon and a biscuit and gravy and a strawberry waffle. Both were delicious. The whipped cream tasted freshly made and the biscuit was fluffy. The gravy was just right. I’d come back to try some lunch.

I’ve been driving by here for years so I figured we’d give it a go. My son got a hotdog kids meal, my wife got a steak and I got the catfish. We all got fries as a side and they were literally the worst fries we’ve had anywhere. They were like stale fries from a frozen tv dinner, but we continued eating without bringing it up. They toasted the hotdog bun and broke it in half so my 3 year old couldn’t really eat it right as the hotdog just kept falling out. My wife’s steak was very unflavored, very lewthery, she had to use steak sauce to finish it. Her macaroni and cheese was also obviously microwaved instant style. My catfish was okay but that had to be the most bland breading ever used on catfish, if I didn’t have tartar sauce I wouldn’t of been able to finish it. As we looked around we realized the majority of the customers were elderly so maybe that’s why the food is so bland? I’ve never liked to complain about a meal but I did have to talk to the waitress about the fries when we paid, they gave us $1.75 off even though we barely touched them. The waitress was very friendly and checked on us often and the building itself was clean but we definitely won’t be back.

First time eating here. Our service was very prompt and we even had someone being trained. She was very pleasant and kept a watch on us for anything we needed. I had their mac n cheese and mashed potatoes with chicken gravy. It was delicious and very filling. My friend had the special for the day which was a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes in the center and covered in your choice of brown or chicken gravy. Very good food, nice portions, great waitstaff, food cooked to perfection and prices fairly reasonable. I’d eat there again and highly recommend.

If you live in the Quad-Cities, then you already know, Harlan’s is a QC institution. They serve breakfast anytime and have some of the best meals around. Chili every day, the best hash browns that I have ever had and the PEOPLE is what really makes this place ideal. It is what I consider low-cost and great food. Went there first time. I ordered chicken ribs combo..got a leg and tiny thigh over cooked. Ribs were tough. Kids orders a BLT that looked like someone just threw together. Burnt toast. Very disappointed. Probably won’t go back..
