Well, Hare of the Dawg has fully converted my dad into a Chicago-style hot dog lover. I brought him and my mom in for a spontaneous lunch, and he left raving about how he wanted to come back to this restaurant soon. My mom also loved their Reuben and drinks. Our server was incredibly sweet, and I loved the relaxed vibe within the restaurant. We cannot wait to come back.

Wife and I heard about this place and decided to give it a try. We noticed that they had a vast assortment of hotdog plates and decided to try 2 different ones along with an order of nachos with TexMex chicken added. When the food came out, we were NOT impressed. The nachos were basically cut up lettuce, cheese, jalapeños and somewhat soggy tortilla chips with “chicken ” that looked liked cubed dice. No flavor whatsoever. We moved on hoping the hotdogs would be better……NOT. The hotdogs were basically average size plain dogs and the french fries were overcooked. I consider this place a PUB rather than a restaurant just because of the dining area. We have gone to several PUBS and their food is usually very good but unfortunately this place whether it’s a PUB or restaurant wannabe, if this is quality of the food, then it’s a lost.

For those of you who are interested…..the “Oscar Meyer ” type hotdogs are $9 each (rip-off) and the nachos are $14 regular + $7 for added cubed chicken (nasty). I could have gone to COSTCO/BJ and had a much better hotdog for a fraction of what we paid. I had to write this review to give other people fair warning…..we have no problem paying top money as long as we get top quality food. The bar area looks nice but since we just went there to grab a bite to eat, can’t say much about the bar. Hopefully the owner will read this and be open-minded about the critique, if your going to promote hotdogs plates or nachos platters at that price range…make it worthwhile.
So needless to say that when my wife and I looked at each other as we were leaving….we both said….never again.

Update: Apparently owner read my review and can’t take someone’s opinion about his/her restaurant. People have the right to complain about poor quality whether you agree or not. I will continue to warn them about your place every time food comes up in my conversations.

Been waiting to try this place for a while. Clean and open place, spaced perfectly to have privacy but still close to others.

Waitress seemed new, not really knowledgeable of the menu but willing to try. Very nice. Food was as expected. Bar food but tasty! There were several things i wanted to try but opted for an appetizer platter. It has chicken tenders, spring rolls and mozzarella sticks. All were good. Husband opted for a burger and fries. Cooked perfectly with nice flavor.

We will he back to try the hot dogs, meatloaf, salads and more cocktails

First time visiting today and was pleasantly surprised! Great service for a very busy Sunday. The nachos were out of this world and the buffalo wings were perfect! I got the Swiss & mushroom burger and my husband got the bacon, bbq dogs. They both exceeded expectations and we even got hot dogs to go for our own pups. Cannot wait to try the pizza next time!

I’ve been coming here consistently for a couple years now , it’s been mostly positive although I have been watching the food quality slowly go downhill but tonight ended that run for me , the chicken was so over cooked it was like eating a old shoe , the masked potatoes tasted like dish soap and the bread could’ve broken a window , it was fine because everyone has a off night , but what ended my patronage to this place was the service

When the server came by and took my wife’s plate and asked if I was done , seeing that my plate was still completely full , I said yes it’s too terrible to even eat , he laughed and took my plate came back dropped the full bill on the table without so much as a sorry or how can we make this right . I wasn’t expecting a free meal but I also didn’t eat anything but a couple of disgusting bites. And to be honest I wouldn’t have even left this review if he even slightly acknowledged that my full meal was still on my plate

This service is completely unacceptable it was more of a clubhouse than a business this particular night and wish I just went to Applebees , one thing I did notice is the usual guy walking around possibly a manager was not there and this may have been the problem , but they lost a consistent two to three time a month customer with this one , won’t be back

What a bummer. Just okay food and okay-er service on a not very busy Sunday afternoon. Had to ask for waters 3 times. It’s like they took the food from the Irish pub (now closed) down the road and moved it here. The only thing we liked were our wings. Sandwiches (haddock and Reuben) were alright and the fries (regular and sweet potato) tasted like the fryer oil hadn’t been changed in awhile. Even our french fry fiend baby rejected the fries. Free popcorn was burnt and over salted. My house margarita tasted like Minute Maid lemonade.

Bathrooms were clean at least. The space is welcoming, but the food and probably mixed drinks need an intervention or maybe we just ordered the wrong things on a bad day, who knows . Maybe we will try again in a few months, but can’t see ourselves going back right now. Sorry.

Late day lunch (3:00 pm) at this relatively new restaurant/bar. Opened since Jan. 2022, this eatery offers a full pub menu and from 2-4 pm, half price on select appetizers and personal pizzas at $4.99 each. Numerous draft beers come in a surprising 22 oz glass, ($9.00) with lots of bottled selections as well. I tried the fried balsamic glazed brussel sprouts as an appetizer and chose the personal sized pepperoni pizza. Both items were tasty and would have fed 2 people easily. I brought home half of each to enjoy another time.
Staff were friendly, atmosphere was casually and it’s located right on Main St. On street parking, but I think there is public parking behind the building.

Good addition to Derry. Great cocktails and enough food to give you options. Friendly service as well. Love the dog cocktail names, if there is one named after a border collie we would visit much more!

A solid place to grab a bite, or indulge in a cocktail.

The atmosphere is an open concept that works quite well. It can get a bit loud during peak hours, when just about every seat is filled.

We showed up around five, and within a half hour this place went from half full, to jam packed. The servers kept up with the business quite impressively. Even while tending to both indoor and outdoor seating at the same time.

The apps were good. Deepfried kraft Mac and cheese. A new play on a classic that makes you feel like a kid again.

The nachos were tasty. A lil overkill on the placement of olives and jalapenos. Almost like a hand full was dumped in one spot, rather than evenly distributed. It’s the shredded cheese, so you’ll be racing to eat this before it solidifies. Still quite good though.

French fries are those McCain frozen crinkle fries. The seasoning really pushes them to another level though.

The chicken Parm sando was awesome. My only thing is the chicken was a little too thick. I know I know, but if it were just a chicken sandwich I wouldn’t say anything. But the chicken was so thick it took away from the sauce and the cheese. Instead of a medley of flavors, it was like the chicken was bullying the other ingredients out of the pallet.

I will definitely be back. Next time I’ll be trying the two chili dogs with fries for only $11!
