As soon as we pulled into the parking lot we were greeted by a happy customer telling us “they’re open!” In which we replied with Yayyy!!
We walked through the doors and was then greeted by the staff with big smiles. They were so nice to us.
We got chicken, pulled pork, pork belly burnt ends, tri tip, tri tip sandwich and our sides were mac and cheese, potato salad, coleslaw, and baked beans. The food was just as amazing as the service. We will most definitely be back to try more. We already love this place.

This place is great. I got the brisket, and boy was it good. It’s a bit pricey, but the taste is worth it and the proportions are big. The people there are super nice, and the guy who runs it is cool. There’s plenty of seats, and everything is already pre made, so you can just grab your food and go.

We tried the tri-tip, pulled pork, brisket – both lean and fatty, rib burnt end, and pork belly burnt ends. The baked beans are so flavorful, the coleslaw slaw has a hint of mustard, the mac n cheese is extra cheesy and creamy, and the cornbread was just the right amount of sweet. Everything was delicious – we will definitely be back and recommend you give it a try, as well.

Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was amazing. Some of the best bbq I’ve ever had – and I’m from Texas. Great pulled pork, tri-tip, Mac and cheese and corn bread. Wanted to try the brisket but it was already sold out. Will definitely be back

The beef ribs are meaty! Love the hint of heat in the coleslaw and the so creamy mac n cheese! The house made BBQ sauce is also good (especially over the pulled pork). You can buy a bottle for $12. We also got hot links, which were spicy BTW! Recommend getting there early because they run out of meat fast…probably because they are new and popular. We went for a late dinner and there was a line but most of the meats were sold out. They can be a bit pricy for our area, IMO, but worth it because the meat portions are pretty big and the BBQ/smoking process is long. The servers were nice and helpful. There is only a small parking lot.

We had our son’s first birthday party here today and had an amazing experience. Our large party of 12+ got an assortment of plates and sides and everything was delicious all around. The service was awesome and they were very accommodating and so sweet!
Our only suggestion would be more highs chairs and changing stations in the bathrooms. This is about to be a family favorite for us for sure!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but Hard Times BBQ in Marysville deserves one. The food was honestly really solid. You can tell they take their time with it.
The meat was tender and flavorful, not dry, not rushed. The brisket was legit and the ribs had a great smoke flavor. Portions were good and I didn’t feel like I overpaid for what I got. The sides were solid too.
What stood out to me was the service. Everyone was friendly and down to earth. It felt welcoming, not corporate or fake.
If you’re in Marysville and want real BBQ, this is a good spot. I’ll definitely be coming back.

We had a great experience with this new establishment. The owners have poured their all into it. The service was great! And the food was delicious. Years of experience have paid off and our community gets to reap the benefits! Great portions! Had plenty left over to eat again tomorrow. They are barely up and running so I bet it will just keep getting better! 10/10 will try again!

I can’t say enough good things about Hard Times BBQ. If you’re looking for some Texas style BBQ, this is definitely the place to go. Staff is extremely friendly and you can tell they’re grateful for each customer. Also, if you come to Hard Times BBQ you MUST get a Texas Twinkie! Miguel and Emilee were so great. They served us and my husband and I practically ordered every single thing on the menu. Everything was bomb except for the potato salad, but mostly because it was made out of sour cream and that’s not my jam. My husband said the brisket was the top star, and then second to that was the tri-tip and then after that the hot links that are made in house. I ordered every single side and my favorite was the beans and then second to that the mac & cheese, and then after that the coleslaw. The mac & cheese was so creamy and I love that they made it in front of you right then and there when mixing the cheese sauce. The best! We haven’t had good barbecue like this in a long time. Thank you to Miguel for letting us try the turkey. We will definitely be back. Emilee Thank you for the cookie which made me feel loved especially during Valentine’s Day. We will definitely be back. Great customer service fantastic food.
