Visited recently and honestly the experience was really disappointing. We arrived just 10 minutes after our original online booking time of 17:45, yet we were still made to wait over an hour to be seated. When we called ahead to let the restaurant know we’d be running slightly late, we were told it wouldn’t be an issue — but clearly it was.

The hygiene of the restaurant was extremely poor. The gents’ toilets had black mould on the windows, which is completely unacceptable, and even the glasses we were given had visible lip marks around the rim. It immediately killed any confidence in how clean anything else might be.

The food was the only saving grace of the visit and is honestly the only reason this isn’t a 1-star review. In addition to the food tasting good, we were completely shocked at the children’s portion sizes, especially compared with what was shown in the picture on their festive menu — the difference was huge and felt really misleading.

The one standout was Trudy, who genuinely made an effort to look after us. She helped us with the best deals on the menu and was the only person who seemed to care about customer service. Thank you, Trudy — you were the highlight of an otherwise poor visit.

A popular restaurant with own car park but don’t forget to type your Number Plate into the screen just as you go in front door.
Probably best to book in advance especially popular times, walk ins might have to wait a bit.
Really lovely efficient staff serving delicious food we were lucky enough to be served by Daniel K.
One peeve, smoking is right outside the front door, maybe because it was raining, not sure.

A dreadful meal…..only saved by the amazing Waitress!!!

Oh dear……Well.where do I start!!!

It was a Wednesday esrly evening and the venue was quiet so we weren’t exactly talking 9pm Friday/Sat levels of busy rhat could impact the quality!!!

Now let me pre-fix by saying that when you have the likes of Wetherspoons charging £10-11 for a meal AND an alcoholic drink if your going to charge £18-20 for a burger or a chicken skewers its god to be decent!!!

Sadly this was not the case and what we got was no better than a ‘spoons’ at double the price + drinks!!!

What we had:

Double crunchy chicken wings: these were great to be fair but £8 for 4???? Come on!!!

Chicken Skewers: Came witha rock solid, Frisbee like bread (taht even the staff said have no idea why it it’s included) , handful of chips!, Greek salad (that was sent back as tasted very odd) and chicken skewer (1) that was both overcooked and also (worryingly) undercooked to the point of being inedible.

Surf and turf burger: chips were stone cold, coleslaw freezing old, and rhe burger greasy with also the prawns cooked to death, no sauce and presented as if the chef regrets his life choices. Sent back and another one was provided taht was much better!!

Also the Birra Morretti (if that’s what it really was) was flat!!!

What saved it was the amazing waitress!!!! Give this woman a pay rise. Attentive, helpful, on the ball and friendly!!! She clearly cares about her job and takes pride in it. If she hadn’t been id have just refused to pay.

Our experience was so rotten she knocked 40% off the food bill.and gave us a free dessert.

Unfortunately as stated earlier, if this had been £10 with a drink id get it , but you cant charge these prices and serve this!!

You only get one chance to make a first impression. We live near and eat out alot so was hoping this could be out middle ground between pub food and high end, but wont be back!!!

You’ve lowered your game guys!!!

Visited with a disabled guest but all four disabled parking bays were taken. Shown to a table quickly, but then had to wait for our drinks order to be taken whilst others who had been shown to their tables after us were having their drinks orders taken. Food took a little while to arrive, but not excessively so. The food itself was nice and hot and my fries were fresh and crispy. The fried egg though appeared to have been dropped onto the plate with very little care, and all the yolk had leaked into the peas. Not so much of problem for me having been raised to eat what is put in front of me and be grateful for it (thanks Mum) However others might not be so forgiving having paid for a service. About a twenty minute wait for plates to be cleared, and then a further wait for the bill to arrive. Did not appear to be especially busy and I can only think perhaps we had been seated in an overlooked area of the restaurant. I can’t help thinking that maybe if it was run a little more efficiently these overlooked areas would not exist at all. To sum up, if you’re looking for value for money you could probably do a lot worse than here. But if service is more important to you then pay a bit extra and go elsewhere.

Returned for lunch on Christmas Eve with the same group of guests. On a positive we were shown to a nearby table so that our access needs would not be unduly tested. The food however was a catalog of errors that I present here in no particular order, so that you can make an informed judgement on whether you want to subject yourself to the same. One plate (the salmon) was completely missed from the order, then came to the table suspiciously quickly thereafter. Overcooked to the point where parts of it were inedible. Rare steak came to the table cold and without the tomatoe accompaniment. The tomatoe when it did come was charred to a crisp and clearly from the same blowtorch wielding source as the Salmon. My burger should have left me on safer ground, but the lettuce within was limp, slimy, and a colour I have honestly never associated with leafy green anything before. Service was unattentive and unfriendly. Took so long to get noticed we ended up skipping our intended dessert, settling the bill and leaving. Who knows, if the main course was anything to go by maybe we were actually doing ourselves a favour here? To sum up I would suggest you take your hard earned money elsewhere if you are looking for anything above the very basic and frankly uncaring standard that appears to be on offer here.

Close to the hotel so happened in without checking the reviews . It had been a very long and difficult day, whilst always reviews prior to entering an establishment going forward. Entry was established with an approximate 5 minute wait for seating. Apparently reservations are required when the restaurant is half empty, but a lucky part of the day, a seat was obtained!!! Drink order came quickly, believe me you need to be intoxicated to eat here! Grapefruit syrup drink was promptly tasted, OMG just put a straw in the prosecco, terrible drink. Nachos where a mix of cheese whiz, salsa hot peppers and scallions, they where edible as long as you didn’t dig into the sopping base of chips, read that as only a half dozen chips were edible. Fried mushrooms, tasted like they had been dropped in the parking lot and the BBQ SAUCE I think was recycled from someone’s ribs. Alas the main course arrives! A rib eye steak, it took me back a few years when Waffle House servers steak and eggs using the absolute thinest cut of steak available, it was ok, just wish I would have eggs and hash browns for the entire Waffle House experience….oh yea this is Beefeater. The salad had less than one leaf of lettuce in it and many diced vegetables, it was the best part of the meal! Don’t order the prawns with your steak, and finally the peas, zero flavor. Save time and money, eat somewhere else!!! The service was pretty decent but doesn’t make up for the terrible food.

Needed something close to the hotel so chose here as it was walking distance, had to wait for table which was fine as didn’t realise had to book, tables felt sticky and didn’t see one person wipe them inbetween customers.
Starter of crispy prawns not nice at all , the coating was vile, sad salad just for colour,
Starter cheesy garlic bread , super thick dense dough with cheese in the middle.
Both Starters were only a quarter eaten.
Main 1, Ribs were just ok , corn boiled to death so not nice at all.
Main 2 Gammon and chips, just ok.
Wouldn’t go back unfortunately.

Unfortunately, due to business expenses, I had to eat in this beef eater, when I arrived at the bar to order my food I was met with a woman that looked very miserable and didn’t seem to be enjoying her role or job. When I was trying to establish what I needed to do to make sure I followed my business contracts, it was like I was asking her to eat sour sweets, however, we eventually got there after a couple of sighs! It arrived pretty quickly and it was edible if not a bit cold, chips look like they had been scraped from the bottom of the frying pan, please see the picture. I also had a pint of Coke. This came to approximately £25. Again the next morning I went for breakfast, nice and pleasant lady showed me to my seat and pointed me in the right direction. Unfortunately, the cooked breakfast, even though under a lamp was cold, they had no scrambled egg and I couldn’t find the lady as she had disappeared! The egg you can see on my plate was rubbery and I reckon I could’ve used it as a frisbee. However, it was edible. Music was a bit loud and they need to clean the mould of the windows, as it wasn’t very pleasant to look at whilst eating breakfast. It takes two minutes to clean the windows and mould if the windows in the restaurant at this bad I can only imagine what it’s like in the kitchen. The restaurant needs investments a good clean and a general upgrade not the best beef eater I’ve been to.

The Beefeater never disappoints. The staff are consistently brilliant. friendly, welcoming, and always on top form. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine warmth that makes you feel right at home.

Special shout‑outs to Jenny, Lorraine, Jordan and Kelly who always go above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable. Their energy, professionalism, and great sense of humour are a massive part of why I keep coming back. I hope they like my stories!

If you’re after a drink in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, this is the place to be. Highly recommended

Me and my partner come here about once a month on a Saturday. The staff are fantastic, hard-working and welcoming. We never feel rushed which is important to us. We have the steak which has always been cooked to perfection. Amazing value for money, especially if you have a loyalty card. Always a good experience. Keep up the good work!

Service was terrible, staff insufficiently trained and our order didnt make it to the kitchen so we were sat waiting for starters for 50 mins. Had to get staff attention, they did not check in on us. The restaurant was cold, we kept our jackets on but were told the heating was apparently on.
