Reviews
I travel and eat out over 100 nights per year, and my family was in the restaurant business for many years.
I have very low tolerance for poor service or mediocre food.
My experience at Harbor was certainly the best in a very long time.
Our waitress, Aspen, was friendly, fun, and helpful.
Every recommendation from appetizers to entrees was spot on.
Try the banana Nutella flake.
Trust me.
It is a smaller restaurant, and they’re only open 5-9, so make your reservations well ahead for special events.
The mashed potatoes were a little bland, so I’d skip those next time, but the au gratin potatoes were amazing, super flavorful and crispy. Since it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a scoop of their house-made salted caramel ice cream, and it was so good! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and overall, I’d absolutely go back.
Atmosphere
Old and tired and is not something that would stop me from being a regular if everything else was on par.
Food
Squash blossom appetizer 4/5
I enjoyed the arugula with the crab stuffed blossom. The sauce was a little strong. Would get again.
Bibb salad 3/5
It was average.
Filet mignon with butter and chimichurri 3/5
The beef itself was great. I did not taste any butter on the steak bark and neither did my husband so he dipped his steak in the clarified butter from the lobster. The chimichurri was soggy, definitely not fresh made as we arrived a little after opening so it was likely from yesterday or older. Very disappointing. Please note, you pay extra for the butter and chimichurri yet the effort made it taste like it should be free.
Lobster 4/5
Delicious meat. Cooked well. So glad we got this protein.
Potatoes au gratin 3/5
Average and the potatoes were slightly undercooked.
Cauliflower 1/5
Undercooked and not tasty. I did not eat it. I might have eaten some if it was 2/5.
Service 1/5
The waitress didn’t check on us or fill or beverage until it was time to go. We are 20%+ tippers and she got half of what we normally give.
Overall 3/5 being generous
I might have been willing to try again if service was excellent, thinking maybe a new or inexperienced chef was working. The plating was also lacking. The high quality of food available should have been an excellent meal for $250, splitting our meal so we could get everything we wanted to try, thinking we’d try a dessert too. I wanted to love this restaurant.
