Haven’t been back to 木屋烧烤 in a while and it’s definitely quieter than it used to be, which was surprising. That said, the food still hits! The cheese grilled corn was so good we ordered two plates, and the lamb noodle soup was fresh and flavourful — didn’t expect the noodles to be that tasty. Had a bunch of skewers and a couple of beers and it made for a great night.

I really enjoyed the food here when I come to Richmond. The food is always tasty and delicious. Lots of flavor. The service was ok. It was a little hard to get someone to come to thr table. Thr atmosphere is nice and clean. I would definitely recommend this place to try. I would give it a 4.5 stars or of five stars.

Tried this older BBQ place, it opened before the others in Richmond. Menu was good, some items were cheaper than Tasty and Party grill ie. Oysters and scallops. Surprised it doesn’t have the pan heating up food like the other BBQ restaurants. The seating is a bit more comfortable and spacious, parking was easier, decorations were cute. They take credit cards and free take out containers, made it more convenient. Food was average, some good, some were okay.

Fantastic food that’s worth coming back for. I have frequented this restaurant several times and the food here is great every time. I especially recommend trying their soup noodle bowls, they are filled to the brim with delicious ingredients and taste amazing. Their BBQ skewers are good as well. The decor is modern and the atmosphere is clean and airy. Good place for a meal overall.

Recommend this place for hang out. You can have skewers and beers to start. We also ordered the Spicy Fish for sharing. They use schezhuan and oil to cook the fish. It was so hot and flavourful. The portion was generous, yet the price is quite expensive. Especially when you finally realize how many skewers you had. The service was okay. You need to raise your hand whenever you need anything because they are busy and not checking table individually.

Went on a Sunday at around 5:30pm and it was dead so we got a seat right away. The server was nice and welcoming and the service was good. The food however was not it. We ordered the lamb and pork belly skewers and they both lacked flavour. There were also no salt and spicy pepper on the table like most other skewer places where you can add flavour to your skewers. The skewers were so oily and gave all of us upset stomachs after too. The menu had a lot of variety and the price was good for the skewers however the minimum order for each item was really annoying since there was only 3 of us. Overall I don’t recommend this place and recommend trying other skewer places in Richmond as there are so many better options!!

I had a craving for some skewers and decided to go to Happy Tree House BBQ Restaurant in Richmond. It was a Sunday night so the restaurant was not that busy. The servers were nice. and the atmosphere seemed good.
We were given an order sheet and went through it slowly. The assortment of meats was good. My one complaint is that you have to order a minimum number for each type of skewer. When there’s only two of you, it makes it difficult to try everything.
I would suggest just ordering a few skewers and trying other menu items here. I tried the lamb, chicken, frog legs and beef. They were good but the seasoning of each skewer was the same so it really felt like I ordered a whole bunch of the same skewers.
The oysters were very yummy in a sweet garlic sauce. They clams were tasty. The scallops were good.
Overall it was a good experience here. I would definitely bring a few more friends to share more menu items next time.

Love the vibes at this place. Quite loud, but it’s a great place to gather with friends to share food.
The price is a bit on the higher side which is why I don’t go often, but the food is very delicious. I especially enjoyed the sweet potato chips as an appetizer along with the mung bean jelly noodles (always have to order every time!)
The skewers are also pretty flavourful and are super yummy.
