Service was exceptional as was the food. I had the Katsu Chicken, Teriyaki and the Poke’ bowl. I would recommend both. They have a variety of other things as well.

Easy to find, easy in and out, and solid tasty dish. I had the spicy tuna poke, 1/2 rice & 1/2 salad, all the toppings, and spicy poke sauce. It wasn’t actually spicy, but it was tasty and was just what I was looking for. Nice little gem in the area.

Food sucks and is a knockoff of other Happy Teriyaki places with way better food.

This place has not changed and I love it for it. Long time ago when I was younger and full of vigor I ate here constantly. I was addicted to that great chicken bowl with the thick teriyaki sauce. Well I ordered that same dish when I stopped by on a whim. It’s the same! Oh, I was in heaven. I also got a side of gyoza which was also delicious. The same owners from all those years ago to round it out. I’m sad to see the other poor reviews for this place, because I still think it’s great.

Overall the food is pretty good it’s always fresh and hot. What I would change about my visit here is the friendliness of the employee greeting the guest. I did not receive a greeting from the Hispanic girl nor did I receive a thank you after she left the food just sitting on the counter! I heard (your food is ready) but no body to go with it. Maybe she was having a bad day I don’t know, but it makes the restaurant look bad.

I’m definitely dating myself, but I found Happy Teriyaki in Lakewood, in 1989. Yes, I’ve been ordering and enjoying the combination beef/chicken with steamed veggies rice for 35 years. Today was my first less than favorable experience. The food has always been consistently excellent, but after tax, I paid $20 and received the smallest portions that I have seen to date. I did, by chance, speak to the delightful and very friendly owner about my observations. It seems that current economic conditions that are effecting everyone these days, has finally forced them to both increase the prices and exercise some shrinkflation… all of the portions are now measured perfectly at 4 Oz each. Like I told the owner, the food is excellent, but my habit of eating there, every time I take a trip into town, is likely to change a bit.
