They do not know how to cook the broccoli soft. Every time I order I ask for tender/soft broccoli and it’s always hard. When I was in Louisiana at a Chinese restaurant and asked for tender broccoli, they served me tender broccoli. Please learn to cook the broccoli till it’s tender!!!

I have always loved happy star but with the new ownership, its definitely better quality food now. I would only suggest a few things for example: We did go in to eat, which was a first for me, I had always gotten it to go. The meal I got was the orange chicken and rice and I got some extra egg rolls (super yummy!).. but it didn’t come with the yum yum sauce included like most other places and when I did purchase the extra sauce (I personally probably do use a lot) it was a little runny and not enough (again, personal opinion). The other thing I noticed, not directly related to me; when people were coming to pick up their orders, they were asking them their phone number or exactly what they ordered, instead of a name which would have made the process just a little bit easier. All in all, The place was very clean and the staff were very nice and accommodating. The person I was with got the sesame chicken and was very pleased. They are very skeptical when it comes to ordering chicken (anywhere) but they were very comfortable and said that the chicken was thoroughly cooked. I will most likely return to my normal house special lo mein but I highly recommend giving them a try if you’ve been deterred in the past!

Look, this place knows what it is. The best food for price in town with the best flavor. There isn’t a bad dish and they do great wontons. They have very hard workers in the back and everyone is really nice. This place is efficient and awesome, come by, spend your money and enjoy the food.

Poor customer service. Only 1 star because 0 wasn’t an option. Being rude with a paying customers who ask questions about certain dishes won’t win you any more business. Save yourself the trouble and order from Happy Star on the Volunteer Parkway in Bristol,TN. They were very friendly and appreciated the business.

I want to start off with the food. Just wow. I ordered the house special fried rice and it was truly a life changing experience. I’ve never tasted such delectable fried rice before and it’s making my mouth water just by thinking about it. I would definitely come here again. The workers were really friendly as well. I asked the waiter for recommendations on the menu because my great grandpa had trouble deciding what he wanted to eat for his 86th birthday and he was truly patient with us. The portions are filling too and my grandpa has not stopped talking about this place ever since we went.

The best Chinese takeout in our area. Beware of the Volunteer PKWY location. This business is the best!! I love how they prepare and cut their vegetables and their food is always seasoned properly. I cannot get over how delicious their crab rangoons are! It’s not just cream cheese inside. Thank you all so much for being consistent and delicious.

We ordered lunch takeout for four people online . . . General Tso’s Chicken (L11), Sesame Chicken (L12), Vegetarian Fried Rice, Hot & Sour Soup, and egg rolls. The website was user-friendly, and our order was ready when promised.
I was especially thankful for the young lady who greeted me at the door and held it open for me to enter on my cane. That said a lot about her character, and it represented the restaurant well . . . very friendly service. The cashier was polite and friendly too. First impressions are important.
Everything was tasty and delicious, some of the best Chinese in the area. Our only critique was that the hot & sour soup was a wee too thick. The serving sizes were generous, the prices were reasonable, and the takeout was packaged well . . i.e. no spills on the way home.
