A couple of things went wrong during our recent visit. The server repeatedly interrupted me while taking our order, which is usually not a big deal if the order is correct. However, he missed an order of ramen and made snide remarks about us ordering a large amount of food, as if they didn’t want our business.
To make matters worse, he forgot to bring any small dishes for the soy sauce, which is an essential part of the sushi-eating experience. We had to go up and get them ourselves after 10 minutes of waiting for our food to arrive. Additionally, we had to ask for the missing food from our order.
To make the situation even more frustrating, there was no music playing while we were waiting for the food that was missing, which made the wait feel excruciating. The server should have noticed that we needed something if they had come to check on us at least once after we received our food, but they didn’t. Also didn’t do anything to make our experience better after the mistakes were made.
I am a chef so I am usually pretty lenient when it comes to service problems in restaurants. But we were literally the only customers there the whole time. So to me this is pretty unacceptable.
Despite the good food, the poor service made me feel like I wouldn’t want to return to this restaurant in the future.

Happy Maki is a great spot. All of the dishes were fresh and presented so beautifully. They have such a wide range of both raw and cooked rolls so you are bound to find one you like. Definitely a great sushi spot to check out.

My family and I enjoyed an amazing experience at Happy Maki. We just recently discovered it in our area and now go there about every other week. The food is amazing, at fair price with great service by their owners.
My favorites the Flaming by far and recently Killer shrimp (thanks to Chef G for his recommendation). Amazing!
I would highly recommend to any fellow Sushi lovers.

The fish meat doesn’t feel fresh enough but it may due to warm rice being used. Not that authentic but the flavor is still good. The price is really good as well.

The rice was overcooked and gluey making it difficult to enjoy the salmon/avocado and shrimp tempura rolls. Very underwhelming… I’ve had better rolls at the same price point. My order wasn’t ready when I walked in but the head chef or manager (I think) was very proactive in getting my order ready which I appreciated.

Came from out of the area to go to REI in the same strip and decided to give this place a try since it was right there.. so glad I did! Food was very tasty – I got the sushi combo and felt I definitely got my moneys worth. Service was also wonderful, friendly and attentive. My only complaint is that drinks are in single use containers (bottles, cans). Hope to make it back again one day!

This place is so darn good. Been there twice now–I’m pregnant and the sushi cravings are out of control. They have a huge selection of cooked options. Everything is so clean and prepared with care.

BEWARE: When they advertise ramen it means packaged ramen. I was so hungry and craving ramen so I came across this place at the last minute. I placed an order of spicy ramen for pickup. I was surprised that it’s only $10. When I got home I realized why it’s much cheaper than normal. It’s literally packaged ramen with one scrabbled egg and a side of white rice mixed in. Who serve ramen w/ rice? For $10 I could have gotten 5 of my own packaged ramen to make a better bowl with meat, eggs, and veggies! Additionally, no utensils were provided. Extremely disappointed!!!
