My favorite Chinese restaurant from my student years — even after ten years, the food is still delicious, and the owner remains very friendly.

The food was terrible. The fried rice was burnt and had a bitter and burnt taste. I ordered the special of the day, which included mixed vegetables, but it was the first time I’d ever seen mixed vegetables was only stir-fried bean sprouts. They probably just made whatever was left in the kitchen. I won’t be going there again.

Very affordable and tasty food. Generous portions but food can be a little greasy and sweet for my taste. Daily specials for lunch and dinner. Been there twice on my short trip to Halifax.

Very fast and friendly service! Our food was ready for pick up in less than 15 minutes. The price was very good for the amount of food that we received. I ordered the Sunday special Combo A and there was a mountain of rice and veggies and a decent sized portion of lemon chicken.

They have Lunch & Dinner combos at great prices and of great value. Their wok tastes pretty authentic. Veggie chow mien is actually fried bean sprouts so don’t get your hopes up haha, but I love beans sprouts and they are healthier than noodles. Their sweet coated fried chicken items are always crispy, fragrant and not overly sweet which I love!

Spicy Chicken Ding with Steamed White Rice was my favourite. Unfortunately can’t find a Chinese restaurant in Ontario that has Spicy Chicken Ding in the menu.

Delicious & Energizing!

Here’s the honest review you’re looking for. Food was okay, chicken fried rice tasted smoky, I didn’t like that at all. The “fried meat wontons” do not in fact have meat lol. Otherwise the food was good. I got the sweet and sour chicken (10/10) and the honey garlic ribs (8/10). Got my food super hot so that’s good too. However this cost me $34. The portion can feed two people though (I got the C3 combo, and added honey garlic ribs) and got fried wontons on the side. Food is very oily so you will feel heavy after.

This is an old restaurant. As a Chinese person, I don’t think they serve Chinese food. The hot and sour soup only tasted like dark soy sauce, and my Sichuan beef was just stir-fried meat with soy sauce. My son had sweet and sour chicken, and he started having diarrhea within 10 minutes of eating it. I also had diarrhea an hour later.

I ordered an C1 meal on DoorDash and after receiving it I realized that I was missing a side that comes with my meal. I immediately called the restaurant and asked about the side that was missing, and the lady was combative and stated that I did not order bean sprouts. So, I kindly told her that upon ordering the meal on DoorDash I read the description of what I was getting and did not need to specifically order in throughout the menu drop-down. So, I read the description to her that was clearly designed by them and submitted to DoorDash to advertise, and she still denied that it comes with bean sprouts! I could not sit on the phone with her any longer and told her that she could get on with her day.

I then took screenshots of the order and description as it shows and try to send it to them to show proof. I am not sure what will happen after that, but I am going to assume nothing…

*UPDATE: I wrote the manager an email sharing with her the details of the order and what was advertised, and it is really funny that she states that DoorDash creates the meals for her restaurant and that it is either AI or someone else that sets up the menu. So basically, when speaking to the owner today and letting her know what I was missing from my order, she denied that I was seeing the description as I was seeing it. She then could have told me that they do not create the menus for her restaurant on DoorDash. She waited until I gave her a bad review to produce her response to my issue. I was hoping to get bean sprouts with my meal as it was described and for the price that it costed, I know that with $30 most people would have been expecting bean sprouts too! If customers are ordering from this restaurant on DoorDash, you probably would not be getting the meal that you asked for…..really?…is this what we are doing Happy Garden? Good excuse but not LOL
