Never had an issue for years until now. Got singapore mei fun and took my first bite and felt something stab the roof of my mouth. I pulled this out of my mouth??? Its one of those twist ties. Not sure how this even remotely got mixed in with my food but super dosappointed!!

We ordered from here Monday February 9th, 2026. Figured we’d try a new place since we couldn’t really find a good restaurant near us. The rice was beyond soggy, our dumplings were burnt and soaked in oil, the eggrolls we ordered were soggy and oily as well. The only thing edible was the sweet and sour chicken. Very disappointing considering the high prices.

Ordered pineapple chicken. It contained six 4mm thick 2×2” pieces of chicken that was so heavily deep fried it was inedible (hard as a rock) and there were pieces of fried coating present that were just empty. They gave the appearance of having chicken slivers but did not. It had no flavor and was served on a mountain of iceberg lettuce which was very strange. I’m still confused over what that was supposed to be. The white rice with it was watery. We also got vegetable lo mein which had maybe 7 pieces of small vegetables in it (quart size) and enough garlic to keep a group of vampires away. $30 and a total waste.

We ordered here for the first time. We ordered the house special egg foo young and sesame chicken along with seafood combination. All three dishes were very good. The price was reasonable.

I simply cannot understand why Happy Fortune has such a low rating on Google. The food is your standard Chinese American takeout, the family who runs it is nice when you go in there, and the quality of food is always dependable.

Egg Foo Young is my test dish if you can’t make that well I won’t come back. But I have come back to this neighborhood place for many years and they continue to fail. The gravy is tasteless, my first notice was it’s color, pale.

This is what the $10.75 “pineapple chicken” gets you. Six pieces of chicken, each slightly larger than a McNugget, on a BED OF ICEBERG LETTUCE to make the container look full, plus an entire pint- a pint!- of pineapple sauce (why? So the bag is heavy enough that people don’t catch onto the two-ounces-of-chicken con until they get home). Absolutely infuriating. I’ll never be back.

This is a takeout restaurant with one or two small tables. You are warmly greeted by a young man who confirms your order by your last four digits of your telephone number. Very courteous and professional. Although I ordered by phone I still had to wait about 5 minutes but that’s reasonable. The food was hot. I ordered hot and sour soup and shrimp in lobster sauce. Because it was a combination platter I ordered it with vegetable fried rice and it comes with an egg roll. Everything was super yummy. I’ve seen some recent reviews that have said otherwise it almost made me skip my Delaware Chinese food staple. I’m glad I went with my instincts

Crab Rangoon was decent. Hot and sour soup was mostly salty tar broth, lacking any tofu, meat, or veggies.
Won’t be ordering again.

I dont know what happened, but I vowed not to order again from them last time and then out of habit went there again for take out . The food was very plain…almost flavorless, tasted like cardboard. Had pork fried rice, chicken with vegetables (very chewy meat, bone dry after asking for heavy on sauce due to not having enough normally.) Inedible. The pork fried rice tasted awful. The only thing I liked from both orders were the egg rolls and wonton soup. This used to be my go to place but now everything is overcooked, and old tasting. The people there are always really nice, fast and efficient. I hope they change back to their old ways/recipes. I will give them another try in a couple of months. Normally order every week or two. Sad that I’ve noticed such a decline over the last several months. I really want to support them.
