Peruvian eatery serving lomo saltado & other standards, plus sangria & beer, in an easygoing space.

Stopped by Happy Fish in Tampa a couple weeks ago while working in the area. I had the Lomo Saltado and my coworker ordered the fried shrimp — both were very well done. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the shrimp came out crispy and fresh.
They also surprised us with homemade picarones for dessert, which were delicious and a great finishing touch. As someone in the food business, I appreciate the quality, portions, and friendly service. Clean restaurant and a great spot when I’m in Tampa — I’ll definitely be back.

It was my second time in this restaurant, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The portions were huge. The food and drinks tasted so authentic. I felt like I was in Peru. I came with my friend who is Peruvian and he said that everything tasted perfect.. I will be back again.

My husband and I have eaten here three times since July 2025, and each time has been consistently delicious with top notch service. It is uncommon to find authentic ceviche and theirs is so satisfyingly tasty. We also love the yuca con mojo. We also tried the steamed fish in a light tomato broth today, which also did not disappoint. We highly recommend visiting this wonderful restaurant!

The owner and staff are very pleasant and attentive. I really liked their maduros, yuca, and platanos rellenos. Amazing flavor! The soup had a lot of lime which my husband didn’t like. Overall we had a great time and will come back to try other menu items.

5 Stars – Incredible Experience!
We had an amazing time at Happy Fish! The food was absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried exceeded our expectations. What made the experience even more memorable was the outstanding service. Kevin (the owner) , Ana, and Elizabeth went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine kindness made us feel like family.
If you’re looking for authentic Peruvian cuisine with top-notch service, Happy Fish is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Pros:
The fish was amazing! The food looked delicious — beautifully presented and well-decorated. Everything was very clean, and the bathrooms were exceptionally nice.
Cons:
The potatoes were freezing cold (some people might like that, but we didn’t). The steak was chewy, they gave barely any sauce, and the rice was undercooked. The waiter also wasn’t very attentive.

It was my first time with my family and It’s a ok Peruvian Restaurant. I founded a little bit more expensive than other places, for what you are actually getting. The food for me was ok, not amazing or great on taste and quality. Would I go once again ? Well.. probably not! The service was good, but sense we were done eating, they were kinda pushing us, so we would just fish with the drink, pay and go. I really don’t like that on a place that I just consume from

Ate here at the recommendation of a friend and I must admit that she made a great recommendation. Don’t judge it by its outside appearance, it’s worth going inside! I had the chicken fried rice which I would definitely recommend. It was fresh and was a generous portion size. Could have fed two or in my case left me with leftovers! The food was ready quickly and the service was great. The owner, I believe his name was Kevin, even came to introduce himself to our table before we had our meal. Very kind of him! We did try the Peruvian donuts. They were ok but not necessarily my preference. Other than that, I would love to eat here again!

Love this place. Quiet and calm atmosphere. We didn’t have time to eat an entree but got some appetizers that were phenomenal. We are going back for mains real soon!! The drink was not the best but the food made up for it plenty! Sorry about the pic of the tamale… it looked as good as it tasted and I had to jump on it.
