I was born and raised in Hunan, so I can confidently attest to the authenticity here! They’ve got some super unique Hunan dishes you won’t find elsewhere. Absolutely a hidden gem.

Came in after a walking tour of Chinatown for this low-key diner and were pleasantly surprised by the two vegetable dishes: Braided winter melon 紅燒冬瓜 and Shredded cabbage 手撕包菜. The winter melon was soaked in a flavorful broth and had a very soft texture that resembled cotton: a great companion for rice! The cabbage was intensely hot and sour but still within the pleasant range. We also enjoyed the appetizer of beef honeycomb tripe 涼拌牛肚. Since Hunan cooking is known for the use of cured meat, we were excited to try the Cured meat with bamboo shoots 臘肉筍尖. However, the dish was merely okay. The cured meat was way too fatty and the bamboo shoots were less fresh.
Overall, it’s a good meal. The staff was enjoying a less busy day and one needed to call for attention and service. The four of us finished all the dishes except the cured meat. May give it a try next time with other dishes.

Good food, but that’s where the positives end. They nickel-and-dime you for low quality rice, and repeatedly serving rotten bitter melon is just entirely unethical. Add in an incredibly rude waitress, and this place has permanently lost my business.

There are lots of choices in the menu that would be perfect for a group to share. But there are also items good for solo eaters. Dropped in for a quick lunch and had a spicy shrimp rice bowl. Staff was very friendly. If you are looking for authentic Chinese food, you won’t go wrong with this place.

Excellent food. Perfect amount of spice. A must stop location if you are in Chinatown. The fish fillet in hot pot is great and the sauteed green beans are excellent. Orders are enough for 2 maybe 3 people.

My go-to restaurant to order my pickup. Good taste, not greasy not oily, reasonable price and they do satisfy you, I always ask them to cook with less oil, and they do a perfect job. You know 90% of the chefs will not do as you asked, but they do, so they deserve this 5-star reviews. If you like Hunan cuisine, you don’t want to miss this restaurant.

Ordered a pork ribs over rice.
Its a box of all rice and 7 pieces of tiny ribs on it. Never order from here again, it’s like half an order.

Interior is unpretentious but does need to be cleaned, smudges all over had me second guessing my pick. Food was extremely flavorful and delicious I have never had anything like it!
