Amazing Experience at Happi Sushi!
Had an incredible time at Happi Sushi in Highland Park. Jeff and his team made us feel so welcome — top-notch service! The oyster shooter was a must-try, the Fire Dragon roll was delicious, and the bulgogi tacos hit the spot. Not to mention the complementary appetizers Everything was super fresh, and the ice-cold Sapporo in a chilled mug was the perfect touch. Highly recommend!

My wife got the shrimp bibimbap and was very disappointed. For $25 she got some white rice, lettuce, a fried egg, 5 shrimp, and miso soup that was just broth and tofu. There was no sauce on the shrimp; they provided a cup of soy sauce and a cup of hot sauce (she got the order to go). She felt she could make the meal at home for a few dollars and that the quality wasn’t anything special. The service from the staff was fine and the restaurant was clean, it was just that you pay a lot to receive very little. We won’t be going back.

I recently visited Happy Sushi, a newly opened Japanese restaurant, and it exceeded all expectations. The ambiance was stunning, with beautiful windows that let in natural light and a thoughtfully designed interior that felt both modern and welcoming.
The food was outstanding, easily surpassing other sushi places in the area. We ordered a mix of dishes, including Rice Crackers, Yellowtail Sashimi, and a variety of specialty rolls like the Crunch Dragon, Fire Dragon, and Godzilla Roll. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and impeccably presented.
If you’re looking for a top-tier sushi experience in a gorgeous setting, I highly recommend giving Happy Sushi a try!

As a local, Ravinia resident, I’m glad Happi Sushi picked the corner spot for the block after 2 years of being available as new construction. It gives the neighborhood more life and aesthetic. Service was quite relaxed but very friendly, so no complaints. Very Nice, enjoyable Al fresco dining at the corner. Miso soup was enjoyable and the tempura shrimp was delish. The Japanese Ramune soda was unjustifiably priced / expensive at $6 +Tax + tip for a 200ml soda – that needs adjusting even after account for inflation. New Bathrooms are fresh and clean, and I LOVE they are ALL GENDER. However, they really need a paper towel dispenser in there close to the door, otherwise impossible to open the door handle without re-soiling hands after washing. While the fish and avocado is fresh enough, the rice is not great with gummy texture and spongy nori on the inside. Overall, I want them to do very well in the neighborhood and will continue to patronize them.

Visiting Happi Susie’s new spot after their relocation was a treat! The modern interior and spacious atmosphere made for a wonderful dining experience. From Crunch dragon to Fire Dragon Godzilla and Yellow Tail Sashimi, every bite impressed, but Rice Cracker stole the show! Kudos, Happi Susie!

I was just sitting around craving sushi and missing Happi Sushi! I used to live walking distance from this place and stopped in for lunch once (and sometimes twice) a week for many years. I had sushi other places, but always came back for consistently tasty fish—especially their salmon and white tuna sashimi. Jeff knew my order and how I liked it prepared. Now being 2,000 miles away, I’m craving Happi Sushi! If you’re in town, don’t squander your opportunity to get Happi.

This place is absolutely the best. Wonderful small place with fabulous food! The rolls are absolutely amazing and the sashimi is just perfect! They cater to children too, and go out of their way to be helpful with allergies as well. Very friendly, yet professional staff will make you feel right at home in this cozy little jewel of a restaurant. It’s a must visit!

Best sushi in town!!
It’s a little gem hiding in the suburb area. Hardly ever post, but took some good pics so had to post. I tried rolls and sashimi (very fresh), looking forward to try some nigiri next time. Great place for both dine in and carry out. Very nice staff, awesome manager and chef, and amazing food!!!

Family run business with great service and attitude from everyone with great food. The rolls are fresh with great balance of flavor. The eels especially were very flavorful without being soaked in sauce to mask the flavor either. Will be back again. Happi indeed!
