I’ve ordered the steak hibachi numerous occasions and it’s been good tasted good nothing ever off. The last 2 times I’ve gotten it from there the steaks tasted weird like not good and most of the pieces are fat. Maybe use sirloin steak over ribeye as it’s a fatter cut of meat. I ate like 6-7 bites and threw the rest in the garbage biggest waste of food and money in awhile will never get hibachi from here again even if it was the only place in town which it isn’t so Ichiban or hibachi time from now on.

I ordered hibachi through Grub Hub from Happi Hibachi and was really disappointed. The food arrived warm, but it was very bland and lacked flavor. The chicken especially was hard to enjoy—it had a lot of chewy, crunchy pieces that made it unappetizing. I was hoping for something fresh and flavorful, but this honestly just didn’t hit the mark.

I love visiting your truck. My food has always been very very good. I visited today and ordered steak and shrimp. Almost every piece of steak was mostly fat so therefore not edible. I know things are expensive right now but try not to get sloppy with your food quality. That’s what keeps people coming back. $15 is not a fair price for steak that is 90% fat. I had 2 edible pieces of steak.

Finding a standout restaurant in Dubuque isn’t always easy, but Happy Hibachi certainly makes an impression. The restaurant has a cozy and clean atmosphere, which immediately makes you feel welcome. The service was great, especially considering there was just one blonde woman doing it all—running food, waiting tables, and cleaning up. Despite being short-staffed, she handled everything efficiently, and our food came out quickly.
The menu offers a variety of options, and I was particularly impressed with the Pineapple Fried Rice and the curry—they were both delicious! If I had to critique anything, it would be the drinks, which were a bit too sweet for my taste( Thai coffee and tea). Overall, though, I enjoyed my dining experience and would definitely return to try more dishes. Happy Hibachi is a hidden gem in Dubuque!

The food is good but not worth the money. You can see from the website and what the prices are on the truck that everything has gone up in price. I understand their is a lot of reasons for that. But they give very small portions for that price. I ordered the Sumo came with 3 shrimp, 2 pieces of chicken, and 2 pieces of steak. If you got more meat I think I would be able to justify the $15 but as of right now I think it’s over priced.

Got food here for the first time today. After hearing how great it is I was disappointed. I ordered the Sumo and the steak was way over cooked and the chicken was dry. Everything else was good and I really liked the sauce. Maybe it was because it was Saturday in pet smart lot and it’s not a constant flow of people so the food is sitting longer but they need to plan that better. I will try it again because everyone has a bad day.

I have been so excited to try this since moving to Dubuque from a larger city. Service was meh but that’s forgivable when the food is extra good; however the food was served quick and lacked texture. The meat had no grill marks despite being “hibachi” the veggie portion was very small and way over cooked. Rice took up 3/4 of the box and was good. There was a tasty sauce served with it in a portion cup that had tipped over on my drive home; I was disappointed that a food cart didn’t cover the sauce or at least warn me there was an open container in there. The sauce spilled out on my car seats and made a bit of a mess. Despite the problems I’ll give them another chance since they seem to have a good local following and there aren’t any other options for similar eats in this town.
Overall it wasn’t bad but nothing exceptional and certainly not worth the price.

This food truck was parked at petsmart in dbq. They have a decent selection of food to choose from and the food is priced well for the portions they give you. I got the delicious chicken and shrimp meal and it comes with fried rice and veggies. I also got funnel cake fries which were incredible. The food is rich and filling so i was full all day after eating it! I definitely will be eating here again.
