Shout out to Kathy she is the sweetest high energy staff I’ve ever met. Asked her for a group photo and she “loves taking photos!!!” so so so sweet.

Highly recommend bún chả Hà Nội – Hà Nội staple noodles with grilled pork!!! So authentic! The dry noodles of course can’t beat the fresh bouncy noodles at home, yet close enough!

Best gluten free banh mi! Hanoi Rose is hands down my favourite spot in Melbourne. I’ve been getting their gluten free pork crackling banh mi almost every week, and it never misses. The crackling is always cooked perfectly, crispy every time, and the bread is the best gluten free one I’ve ever had. You honestly wouldn’t even know it’s gluten free.
I recommend this place to everyone I know, gluten free or not. The food is fresh, full of flavour, and the staff are always lovely. If you’re in Melbourne and haven’t tried Hanoi Rose yet, you’re seriously missing out.

Had the roast pork belly with steamed rice and veggies, really tasty and portion size was just right. Nice ambience, too. Service was okay, but meals came out a bit staggered for our table of four as mine arrived about 5 minutes after the others. Staff were friendly, though, and the lady at the counter was lovely. Would come back. I just hope the timing improves a bit.

I’ve been visiting this restaurant for a long time, and every time I eat there, I always order either the pho or the chicken rice paper rolls. As someone who’s quite a picky eater, I genuinely think their food would appeal to everyone. The dishes have a rich, satisfying flavour. Their desserts are also delicious — especially the taro, mung bean, sago and coconut milk which is perfectly sweet and full of flavour. The staff are always friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

Genuinely haven’t had a worse meal out…I never want to write a bad review. But wow I honestly feel like I have to. If you’re after an overpriced, bland meal, that is in no way authentic Vietnamese – then go here. We ordered the ‘spicy eggplant’ dish, it was so bland. No hint of spice, garlic, or salt. Literally tasted like boiled eggplant, with a sauce made of soy sauce, cornflour and water. The tofu had a bad after taste to it, like freezer burn. The salt & pepper tofu was another horrible dish, very over salted. Tofu was over battered & over cooked. The sauce… tasted like chicken salt & water with a little bit of concentrated lemongrass. Nothing bad to say about the staff or venue, just genuinely very bland food.
