Excellent Vietnamese food in a modest, but friendly restaurant in Peterborough. We’ve been here a few times and we’ve enjoyed our visit every time. On this visit I had the Banh mi belly pork, which was great and very flavorful. Definitely worth considering if you are in town looking for a lunch option.

We ordered the pork belly banh mi and were a bit disappointed. I was looking forward to a soft, melt-in-your-mouth sandwich, but the pork was overcooked and chewy, and the bread was a little hard around the edges. The fillings were good and tasty, but the dish could have been so much better if the pork had been cooked just right.
We also tried the beef noodle soup (pho). This was the first Vietnamese spot I’ve come across in Ontario that uses MSG in the broth. They couldn’t remove it completely, only reduce it, which was surprising. We swapped the rare beef for brisket, lot of meat in the bowl, it was slightly overcooked but still decent. The portion size of the large bowl was generous, and it was enough to take home and enjoy as a second meal.
Overall, not too pricey either. The ambiance was great, warm and cozy. There’s free parking in the plaza, and the servers were friendly and attentive.

This is as authentic as it gets. The food was fantastic. The portion size was more than sufficient. The service was very much on point and very accommodating. I would highly recommend choosing Hanoi House for your Vietnamese dining experience:)

Service was impeccable, so friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world! I had the chicken wings with a squeeze of lemon on the side, and the balance of citrus and salt was perfection. The beef garlic noodles were next level: perfectly chewy with a slightly sweet, garlicky sauce you could tell was made fresh. The beef was so tender it melted in my mouth.

The noodles seem a bit thicker than like a Markham pho, really tasty, and decent portions. I wish the spring rolls were a bit bigger but still good. 1 complaint was that I wore my “pho sho” shirt and it wasn’t noticed by the waitress. Kidding

This is one of our favourite spots! Food is fresh, bright and comforting and always speedy. The staff are always wonderful, they are friendly and attentive. Our 5 year old loves it there too, and they have a great kids menu! Was just in there on Family day and the staff seemed so relaxed and were chatting and laughing while working, even though they were busy and getting things done. It’s the sign of a well run place and a solid crew of staff.

A hidden gem in Peterborough!
I ordered the Vietnamese fried rice, prawn chips, and shrimp & mango salad. Everything was delicious. The shrimp and mango salad is my favorite. Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced and the very best service. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in town!
