I recently dined at Hanoi House City Center and was so impressed! The beef pho was absolutely excellent — rich, flavorful broth with tender beef and perfectly cooked noodles. You can really taste the care that goes into it.
I also ordered the shrimp salad, which was light, fresh, and had just the perfect amount of dressing — not overpowering, just balanced and refreshing.
If you’re looking for authentic flavors and a satisfying meal in Oshkosh, this spot is definitely worth visiting. I’ll be back!

The staff here is wonderful. He was very kind and attentive. The inside of the restaurant is very cute but does have limited seating. They played romantic music the whole tome we were there which was cute. We had the wings and the pho. The pho was decent. I did like the noodles though they weren’t the usual pho noodles. The broth was a little bland and had a different taste then most. I’m not exactly sure what but maybe lemon grass? The wings were also good and we liked the sauce it was plated with.

I visited Hanoi House to support them couple times, as I try to support local Vietnamese restaurants. The place is cozy and cute and pho was good enough, but the banh mi did not meet expectations.

I am a long time fan of banh mi. I have worked in Hanoi, and my wife, who was born and raised in Hanoi, tried it with me. We both agreed this is not Hanoi style banh mi.

The bread was hard, not big deal, but somehow I could tell it’s not authentic, with a dense interior instead of the light, airy structure traditional Vietnamese baguettes are known for. A proper banh mi should be crisp on the outside and hollow and soft inside. This one felt compact and heavy.

There was also a significant difference between the product served and the images advertised online. The sandwich I received looked noticeably different from what was posted on their Facebook page and was smaller than expected, small enough that my 9 year-old daughter could comfortably hold the entire sandwich in one hand.

After reviewing their Facebook images, the banh mi photos appear identical to those from Duc Huong Banh Mi, a bakery I personally enjoy and have supported in the past where I lived in California. The bread structure, presentation, and filling arrangement match those images, but they do not reflect the actual product served here. I have documentation comparing the images.

Additionally, some other food photos on their page also appear to originate from different sources. When promotional images do not represent the actual products being served, it makes it difficult to trust the accuracy of what is being advertised.

Accurate representation matters. Customers should receive what is shown.

The pho was fine, but the overall experience with the banh mi and the discrepancy in advertising left concerns.

Updated: I was not comfortable when someone filmed me while I was eating pho. That alone already left a bad impression.

A few days after my review, I also noticed that the photos they used from Duc Huong are still up with no changes. At this point, I’m honestly speechless.

Because of that, I don’t really see a reason to come back. Best of luck.

The dining area is on the smaller side, but loved that before you walked in you could see they are I fact charcoal grilling. This reminded me of street venders in SouthEast Asia.

The Egg rolls were amazing! Hands down the best Viet egg rolls that I have had in the states. It was super fresh, filled to the brim, and I loved the black fungus ribboned throughout!

My spouse had the Bun Cha, and said that it reminded them of being back home in Thailand. The Nuoc cham sauce was vibrant, sweet, and delicious.

I loved the Pho presentation, the thick cut onions, scallion, and the freshness of the add on plate as well. The flat hand pulled noodle had an amazing texture and a great bite and chew. The only downside was the broth. It was on then bland side. There are several places that I have been here to in the Midwest, and the broth (to me the most integral part of the dish) is almost tasteless. Maybe it’s a choice to appease the local palate, but unfortunately I wasn’t the biggest fan of the broth.

I will.however be back to try the grilled dishes, and to have those egg rolls again!

First time in we got the wings, grilled pork Bahn mi and grilled chicken Bahn mi. The wings seemed like they were lightly tossed in a corn flake(?) batter which gave it the perfect crunch but didn’t leave you feeling heavy. They only have one flavor, a fish sauce. Took a chance on it and will 100% get again. Light, flavorful, aromatic, balanced.
Onto the reason I drove an hour round trip to try this spot. The Bahn mi. Lets starts with the bread. Crumbly, chewy in the best ways you want your baguette to be. And the amount of veggies! Honorable mention because I always feel like I’d like just a little more from other shops I’ve ventured. However, the meats stole the show. Marinated to the max so the flavor was deep and complimented every bite.
I highly recommend this shop to anyone and I will be returning very soon!

Tried the vegan pho tonight and it was delicious! The broth was great, the noodles were a fantastic texture, and there was plenty of tofu. It was filling and so satisfying on a chilly night. My husband loves the crispy wings too.

I’ve been to a couple Pho places like Bangkok Thai Cusine, Mama’s Noodle Bar, and Pho Coma and I can say the pho wasn’t as good as those places for myself.

I loved the atmosphere and the people were very nice. The noodle choice and texture wasn’t for me. The pho broth wasn’t very flavorful and the beef was very fatty and not as good as the other places. I enjoyed the fresh vegetables and the smaller portions. If you’re into more gelatinous types of textures you may love this place but for myself, I would go somewhere else I like a bit better next time.

This restaurant seems to serve authentic Vietnamese food. I did not try to use the chopsticks & asked for a fork. The food was delicious with good flavors & this was my first time trying Vietnamese food, but I do enjoy other authentic Asian dishes. I enjoy trying new foods. I went alone this time I will definitely be bringing my wife along with next time I go. Oshkosh is blessed to have such a good authentic restaurant in the community & so close to the downtown area.

A true 5 star gem. Best bahn mi I’ve had in Wisconsin served on a house made baguette with the quintessential shatteringly crisp crust and pillowy crumb. My partner really enjoyed his chicken pho the roasted chicken was a welcome surprise over the poached chicken we’ve had elsewhere. The star of the show was the veggie egg rolls absolutely packed with mushrooms they might be the best egg rolls I’ve ever had. Run don’t walk your in for a real treat.
