Reviews
For starters the food is excellent, smoked meat perfectly done and the sides are all very good as well. I’d say it’s quickly to the top of my list, and glad we got there early because by the time we left it was packed.
Service is great was there for lunch with friends and the server probably brought us four plus iced teas each, no worries kept the table cleared off throughout the meal and checked in regularly. That was refreshing because a lot of the servers out there are very good anymore, was impressed.
Anyway wasn’t cheap but nothing is that’s worthwhile, and the quality was spectacular.
Jalapeno sausage was of my favorites, very good brisket, pulled pork chicken, we tried it all. Also sides were very good, nice light coleslaw, baked beans and green beans were their own version of what you might find elsewhere, but very very good. Congrats, way to fill the space with something that works!
This place is branded to Scale, and the execution is there… thinking there’s going to be more than two of these restaurants in the very near future
The brisket was superior and some of the best I have had in Central Ohio. The pulled pork was average, and unfortunately the ribs served were kind of dried out, although the flavor was good. The coleslaw was excellent. The baked beans were kind of watery, without much meat, and a disappointment.
We split a banana cream pie offering which was quite tasty, but to be fair it is served in a disposable cup, and really should not be compared with an actual slice of traditional pie.
The atmosphere here is open, airy and light filled. The staff was pleasant and attentive. Our food arrived in a timely manner.
We will certainly be back to try some other things on the menu.
4 Stars!
Our experience: delicious food in a friendly upbeat environment!
We ordered most of the menu, lol! Brisket, Ribs, Jalapeño Sausage, pulled pork, Fresh Green Beans, and Corn Spoon Bread.
Service was quick and friendly. Food was delicious. Great smoke flavor in the meats. Love the fresh green beans, and corn spoon bread. The favorites of our group were brisket and pulled pork!
It’s nice they have a full bar as we had a decent amount of adult beverages as well!
Only took one star off service as it took quite awhile to get our check and some issues with bill, but it got sorted out so no biggie.
Definitely worth a stop!
2 weeks ago, I called & asked to place a carry-out order. The lady said only if I came in side & waited at the bar after placing the order. So I passed.
We stopped by yesterday around 4. We were immediately seated in a 2 seater booth in the bar area. Ordered 2 drinks, mine had so much rum it was actually disgusting.
The amount of people standing at the bar annoyed me. We couldn’t see the football game and we could hardly hear each other due to everyone crowding around the area.
Our server was nice, but service was extremely slow. I’d assume because the large crowed at the bar?
I wish I had thought to take pictures of everything. The brisket nachos? Hardly any brisket on it, let alone toppings. Fried green tomato’s were bland, but that could be due to me taking off the pimento cheese. I still expected some flavoring. Moving on to main entree. Maybe I shouldn’t assume, but I thought smash burgers were cooked well done? The burger was too pink for my liking & I think both the server & myself should have clarified how it should be cooked. Fries were okay. Corn cakes? Mushy & bland again. The pork & white bbq sauce was okay. Greens were my favorite part & even then, first time I had tomato’s in them.
This place seems to care more about the bar atmosphere than food. Was totally bummed after hearing so many good reviews.
The brisket had nice smoke rings but I couldn’t call it BBQ without smothering it in sauce.
The baked beans weren’t. We call those soup beans. Not bad but baked they are not. The corn bread sops up the soupy broth…
The worst of the offering was the pulled pork. It contained a huge gross mass of inedible fat that should never have been sent to a diner. We brought it to the attention of the waiter to no avail. The remainder was wet and greasy and just not very appetizing. Once again without BBQ sauce it was just warmed shredded pork much like anyone can make in a crock pot.
So much for Texas style BBQ…. I’ll try again in a few months
My dining companions ordered a 1-meat and a 2-meat platter respectively and I got the brisket nachos – and I loved them. The cilantro and pickled onion brighten them up and the Fire Cheetos dust was fun. The brisket had good flavor and with the fresh sliced jalapeños piled in the corner of the tray, it was dealers choice how frequently you fired up a chip! Staff was attentive. So why a four star instead of a 5-star review this time. I didn’t like the looks of anyone else’s plate of food (except the green beans and French fries) and that syrupy margarita. I am so glad I ordered what I did. I was kind of freaked out by the “baked” beans that came out. We had to ask for a spoon for them. I had a preconceived notion of what they should be and I didn’t picture them swimming in broth. I’ll be happy to try more of the menu, switch to a beer and write another review. Until then… get the nachos!
