Straight TRASH! This place has fallen down. Never in life have I had BBQ grilled chicken NO SEASON and DRY! This Brisket Potato is the worst ever. NO Season brisket, potato is super watery and then they pulled the whole bottle of BBQ sauce on here and had the nerve to trip about given us napkins. They didn’t even give a us a fork to eat this crap with! $28 down the drain.

We ended up trying this place while driving on a rd trip through indy. We had brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, Mac n cheese, green beans, potato salad and baked beans. Brisket was the real winner out of what we got. Although the bark was a little weak on seasoning. It wasnt dry, texture was perfect. The pulled pork was inedible. Too dry, and the texture was really tough. Mac and cheese was different. Not bad, Lots of seasoning just missing the cheesy top golden goodness. 10/10 green beans. They had the cooked all day flavor. Little bits of meat and potatoes. Baked beans were pretty standard. Potato salad was just not it for me, it was a sweet relish mustard style. I wish I would have gotten a cobbler though. Sounded like a popular item.

Heard about this bar-b-que from friends and ended up going two days in a row last week 🙂 First visit I tried their rib tips wmac & cheese and the potato letke and the next day I went back and the owner was there. He gave me a sample of his corned beef and brisket and I ended up getting a brisket and rib dinner. I told him that I was originally from the East Coast and heard about their place. The owner, Hank came out and welcomed me and he gave me a little history lesson on the restaurant. Besides meeting him, everyone there was great during my first two visits. I have tried many bar-b-que places since my move out here and Hank’s is the best I’ve ever had. I will be going back again this week. New and permanent customer! Good food, service, etc.

We were just traveling through and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Hank gave us samples of brisket and corned beef, both of which were excellent. All three of us ordered the brisket and were not disappointed—it was the best brisket I’ve ever eaten. The brisket was incredibly moist and flavorful. The staff was amazing, and I would give more stars if I could. If you’re looking for the best barbecue, you won’t find a better place. Thanks for the incredible experience.

Best place hands down!!! My favorite is the Brisket Potato , I haven’t tried any other menu items I’m stuck on that one, the owner and his wife are very welcoming, the atmosphere is great. If I have a issue they always fix it the next time i order, it’s worth every penny!

Words can’t even describe how amazing the food is here. The green beans with turkey perfectly seasoned, mac & cheese will blow your taste buds and the brisket is seasoned and cooked to perfection. And it’s insanely cheap.

I ordered the Big Hanks Bake Potato. The potato was small I paid for extra meat sour cream etc. Which my order was everything but correct. I paid just about 20.00 for nothing. One big problem with black businesses is we lack customer service and we tend to forget the customer knows what they ordered. I won’t be going back. I enjoy going there when the owner is working. This guy they have now is rude and he doesn’t listen.

Was craving some smoked Brisket and found this hidden gem!! Great service and great people! They offered my daughter and I a sample of some smoked brisket and smoked corn beef, hooked us for wanting more! Ordered a pound of brisket and half pound of corn beef. They only offer to go and no dine in option but we were good with whatever they had to offer. The food was worth it! The meat was tender juicy with a nice sweet bbq sauce to add. Sauce isn’t needed though because the meat has such great flavor! There were other people there ordering food as well and they shared how great it is and what their favorites were. We wanted to try other menu items but I’ll save that for next time I’m back in town. We will be back! Highly recommend if you’re looking for some local smoked bbq to go!!

This is a GEM that I wish I’d discovered years ago! Some of the best brisket I’ve ever experienced as well as corned beef … all a top a baked potato! Talk about a winning combination! This family friendly business is a must stop when visiting Indianapolis! Can’t wait to visit again soon! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
