If you’re in the Henderson/Green Valley area and looking for a fancy steak spot for a dinner or date, this would be the spot to go to. Whether you’re planning to go into the casino or not, it’s not too far into the casino if you wanted to just go in and leave after.

Everything that we ordered was pretty good as it kept a well balanced flavor when we were bouncing between items. The bread that they serve you prior to your food is also really good. Just be careful to not get too full off of them.

This place is a steak house so of course the steaks should be good. Notable sides that I will suggest would be the Mac & cheese and the shrimp cocktail. Both are larger than what you would normally get which makes it enjoyable.

The service is really good in the beginning as they help you with whatever you may have questions on. After that, our server seemed to have just left us alone and rarely stopped by to check on us. We had to flag them down in order to get their attention. Not that big of a deal but just something that I noticed.

We did have to make a reservation when we got there so we ended up just gambling around until it was our time. It didn’t seem that busy either, but I still would recommend getting a reservation.

We ate at Hank’s Fine Steaks at GVR Resort, Casino & Spa for our anniversary dinner. For drinks we decided to go with Belvedere and Absolut Elyx, and a Frank Family Cabernet, instead of our usual champaign because the mark up on the champaign was out of line.

We started with their oysters served with Sherry Mignonette, Cocktail Sauce, Horseradish on a bed of blue back lit ice. A very attractive plating. The no-name oysters were very fresh and enjoyable. We also had their Caesar salad which while not prepared at the table side, was quite good.

For mains we ordered their 16 oz New York Strip Niman Ranch steak and their Prime Rib Dry Aged 21 Days from Hastings, Nebraska. We added a Baked potato served with sour cream, bacon and chives on the side. The NY Strip was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The Prime rib was also perfectly cooked but not particularly well seasoned and inconsistent in terms of tenderness. The baked potato was a bit undercooked- disappointing especially considering they charged $17 for the one baked potato.

For dessert they brought a nice plated assortment of sweets with two chocolate covered strawberries and a happy anniversary confectionary sign.

Service was excellent from start to finish, especially Margot. The ambiance was nice and noise level moderate for the most part.

Excellent steakhouse, they have teams of three as your server, which is a little different. I ordered the t-bone, the steak tartare, and the Kobe beef carpaccio, which comes with crostini. Luis my server offered a sauce sampler of cilantro garlic, peppercorn, and red wine demiglaze.

Its always a delightful experience at Hanks but this time it was superlative. Try the Picasso ( pomegranate martini) . The ribeye was so flavorful and the meat next to the bone was exquisite. Try the oysters on a cracker with lemon juice, horseradish, and Tobasco sauce. Perfect flavor. Our waiter had been with this restaurant since the day it opened 20 years ago. Plenty of options and customizations available for those with food allergies.

It was our first time at Hank’s and it was, without question, the worst bar/dining experience we’ve ever had, and we will not be returning. We arrived shortly after 4:00 p.m. and found most of the bar seats empty but marked as “reserved,” which was confusing in itself. We were eventually seated at open bar spots and ordered drinks. While mine was well made, my fiancé’s was not. He ordered a Gibson that, per the menu, comes with blue cheese–stuffed olives, yet it was served with cocktail onions instead. When we politely asked two different bartenders to correct it, both insisted we were wrong—despite the menu stating otherwise.

We ordered appetizers afterward, which were mediocre at best. The situation escalated when our bartender returned to ask if we’d like to order more. Another bartender, Jeff, abruptly interrupted her and said, “Really? They need to leave—we have a long line of other people waiting.” This was said while we had been there only 30–45 minutes and were fully intending to order steak dinners and dessert. Being passive-aggressively pushed out as paying customers was shocking and unacceptable.

Our server immediately apologized, but at that point the damage was done. When Jeff later attempted to apologize, he blamed his manager for instructing him to clear space at the bar—an explanation that does not excuse how the situation was handled. Green Valley Ranch has noticeably declined over the past decade, and while losing two customers may not seem significant, this kind of service will continue to drive others away. What should have been a $400–$500 dinner turned into a $70 waste of an evening due entirely to staff behavior.

We came in for an early Valentine’s dinner with my wife and returned the following evening for a client engagement. Both experiences were outstanding—service and food were delivered with genuine care and attention to detail. We tried several chef’s specials, and every one of them was a hit. Claudio and Bo took care of us on both visits and consistently provided excellent customer service. We will definitely be back and look forward to bringing others with us.

Food and service was good but the noise level was very loud. Wouldn’t recommend going here for a romantic dinner. Conversation would be nonexistent because you couldn’t hear each other.

Everything was great. Except it was too loud to have a conversation in the main dining room. At $185 for one lb of king crab, it did feel like a rip off, should at least be 1.5 lbs to feel like a large portion for that extreme price. The service really made this place shine. Over the top, but not in your face. Truly exceptional. Crab cakes, prime rib, soup, bread all great. Would recommend, but aim for less crowded if you want to talk. Otherwise a beautiful place and a wonderful experience with our extended family, party of 6 came to over $1200 with no alcohol. Ouch. But that does include a large tip.
