OMG this was one of the best meals I have ever had in Portland. I got a Smokestack burger, tallow fries and a couple house made sauces… the burger was so juicy snd flavorful and the bun/sauces took it to the next level. The fries are amazing, you can really taste the difference with the tallow, not too thick not too thin. ALSO shout out to Autumn for the amazing service with a smile, after giving me some info on what to order she told me I could wait inside Argenta Brewing (it was freezing outside) and not only did she cook the food but also found me inside and hand delivered it! Highly recommended.

Hank & Arties is definitely a little too expensive, but I’d be lying if that kept me from coming back over and over again. This is what local fast food should taste like. Service is incredibly quick and the burgers are delicious and indulgent. The tallow fries are insanely good, especially with the parsley mayo. Really tasty, but still, $20+ will always feel like a bit much for a smash burger with fries.

This just might be the best smash burger in town, and I’m not usually a smash burger fan! It gave me serious ’90s Jersey nostalgia, bringing back memories of White Rose Burgers in Highland Park (IYKYK). We tried both the Argenta and the Falafel burgers.

The Argenta was everything you want in a burger, soft, buttery buns, flavorful meat, perfectly grilled onions, and just the right amount of messy. The pickled jalapeños gave it a kick, and the Argenta lager cooled it all down beautifully.

The falafel burger was tasty, with bold seasoning and a great flavor profile, though the texture was a bit flaky due to its thickness. Honestly, it could have had more hot sauce! But that’s just me.

Ordering is easy, scan the QR code (or go to their website), place an order, and you’ll get a text when it’s ready. Whether you’re local or just visiting, you can also order ahead and swing by for takeout. There are so many ways to enjoy this gem, and we’ll definitely be back for another burger, falafel, and more!

Just tried Hank & Artie’s tonight and wow—so good. It’s a burger truck at 82 Hanover in Portland (next to Argenta Brewing), and everything about it hits just right. I got The Hank—thin, crispy smash burger with mustard, onions, pickles, and melty American cheese—and it honestly might be the best burger I’ve had in Maine. The bun was soft and buttery, the meat was super flavorful, and the vibe was relaxed but fun.

Fries were killer too—hand-cut and perfectly crispy. My friend got The Artie with their house sauce and it was just as amazing. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and it didn’t take long at all to get our food.

If you’re into classic burgers done right (or want to try something with a twist like foie gras or black bean/kimchi combos), definitely check them out. Great stop paired with a beer at the brewery next door.

Finally! A great burger in Portland. I am from California and I like burgers to be compact and juicy with buns that melt in your mouth. This place hits the spot. The ingredients are super fresh and top notch and I never feel bloated after eating their food because they use the best stuff. Also, their French fries are killer. They use beef tallow or something. Add old bay to the fries. Trust me. So glad this place is around! Also it’s super kid and family friendly!

We stopped at Hank & Artie’s the first night they opened. As Bayside locals, we feel incredibly lucky to have a place like this in the neighborhood, especially in collaboration with Argenta. These true smash burgers were easily the best we’ve ever had — thin with crispy edges, juicy, and packed with flavor. The fries were equally delicious. We ended up ordering seconds! We will definitely be back several times this summer.

The burger is really good but it’s just not a smash burger. A true smash burger is thin and crispy with no possibility of pink in the middle because of how well done they are cooked. I’d recommend removing the word smash from the menu or make actual smash burgers.

The burgers were made perfectly and the fries were so crispy! The gentlemen working in the trailer were especially dope and do a really great job. Overall a great business they’re running, everyone should go try a smash burger.

Best burger in Portland? Just might might. The pasture raised beef is delicious, as are the beef tallow fries (instead of seed oils)…such good combo. Highly recommend.

Best smash burger I’ve had in town. Prices are steep but you get what you pay for I guess. I’m writing this review mostly just to say pleaaase make the large fry bigger or have an extra large? because that large fry size is wack.
