I’m honestly shocked at how bad the portions have gotten at Hangry Joe’s in Centerville.
The photos I included say it all. The portions have clearly shrunk compared to when they used the rectangle box, yet the prices keep going up. Like… isn’t the usual deal that prices go up but portions at least stay the same? Here, it’s the opposite. Paying more for way less is crazy.
What makes it worse is I used to go to this location back in the day and the portions were big enough that I’d have leftovers. Now? This turned into appetizer size. Seriously… I was pissed when I opened it.
I went during prime-time dinner rush and there wasn’t a single person in there. That should’ve been my first warning.
I usually go to other Hangry Joe’s locations and they give normal portions, so I know what this is supposed to look like. But this Centerville location? The containers are tiny, the portion is even smaller, and it’s honestly embarrassing. My hand is bigger than the packaging.
The soy garlic rice combo came with the smallest scoop of rice I’ve ever seen. Like what even happened to this place? And the “loaded fries” were a joke, I swear it was like 4 fries total.
It’s wild because other locations seem to be doing fine, but this one feels like it’s cutting corners hard, and it shows. The container and portion size is smaller than a KFC Famous Bowl. I’m not even surprised seeing they’ve been getting bad reviews lately.
I won’t be back to this location. Save your money or go literally anywhere else.

I’ve always had a pretty good experience with other hangry joe’s especially when they first opened a couple years ago. This location had absolutely terrible food. Everything tasted like they had been sitting out and nothing was fresh. Not to mention, the chicken tenders were so tiny. The fries were stale some to the point where if felt like I was biting into cardboard. The chicken sandwich looks nothing like it used to and was well overcooked and dry. The cashier gave me a coupon for a free sando but it looks like I’ll never be coming back here again.

Our first time at this HJ. My Chicken Sando was pretty good but was lacking the cider slaw. The Waffle Fries were room temperature. The Fried Okra were crispy but didn’t have much taste, it needed dipping sauces. The Mac and Cheese needed more “cheddar” flavor. To be fair, we’ll need to try another location to sample their food.

Not only that they have such great variety on their menu, their food is so fresh and tasty, their sauces are amazing, my son fell in love with their Sando sandwiches and we so appreciate their hospitality and their courteous services. The owner is super friendly and super courteous, he’s always on the move welcoming the customers, cleaning, tidying up and making sure all is up to standards. I’ll make sure to always come back with friends and family. Great job! Keep it up.

I don’t if it’s this place or if Hangry Joes decided to shrinkflate, but these are the smallest loaded fries I’ve ever gotten. Not only is the container seemingly smaller than the regular rectangle ones, these aren’t even filled to the top. In other Hangry Joes locations, I usually cant finish a plate in one sitting, but these were so small that I finished it no problem. I barely had any fries in my bowl. I flattened this out and confirmed I only got 8 pieces of fries. I would rather have the price increased and know what I’m getting than get hoodwinked like this.

The food here is always inconsistent. It gives Hangry Joes a bad reputation. Spice levels vary depending on who’s working that day. There’s no portion control, there are several times where I received a sandwich with a chicken breast that’s as thin as my iPad… Lastly, the restaurant is filthy. The staff doesn’t care about hygiene so the place is always a mess with displaced chairs, sticky floors, dirty tables and spilled drinks. I’ve returned a few times thinking that it’ll get better and maybe they were having a bad day but that’s not the case at all. Would not be returning again.

I ordered a chicken sandwich combo from here and it was THE WORST chicken sandwich I’ve ever ordered. The chicken was fried to hard and not tasty at all. They have waffle fries like chick fi la but the fries were also over cooked. Seems like it was cooked in old grease. I called to have them refund the meal and they refused. Don’t waste your money here. This explains why the restaurant was empty when I went. Just down right NASTY!!!!!

Our family loves a good chicken sandwich — and Hangry Joe’s hit the spot after an afternoon movie. We each got something different off the menu:
– Chicken Sando: Huge sandwich! Could only finish half! The chicken is made to order which makes it piping hot and crispy when served up.
– Chicken Tenders: Again, huge portions and piping hot and crispy.
– Chicken & Waffles: same tenders served but w/ waffles. The waffles were perfectly crisp on the outside and a good airy texture on the inside.
– Waffle Fries: so good and well seasoned. Not at all like Chick-fil-A waffle fries.
Now on to the spice levels – we tried 3 levels:
– Medium: I like spicy… But damn, medium was spicy! I compare it to a Shin Ramen w/ extra hot chili oils. The pickles and slaw def helps to cool things down some.
– Mild: had a bit of a kick, but easy. My 13 had no problem with it.
– No Heat: flavorful! Would recommend for Chicken & Waffle or for those that cannot handle heat.
We really enjoyed our meal and will be back!
(Cleanliness got 3 because the floors were wet and sticky. We came in around 4pm on a Tuesday. Was not busy.)

Stopped here today for a chicken sandwich and the service was superior. Something you’d expect of a full service dining. We will be back for the good food but most importantly for the stellar customer service we got from Nicholas !
