If you’re looking for a chicken sandwich, a fat, juicy, spicy, delicious chicken sandwich. Drop by the hangry hut, they got you covered. Not only do they have the best chicken sandwich that I have had in a long time, they have 3 menus! It’s not a dine in kind of place but the meal was excellent. They have Mediterranean food, American food, and Indian food! Definitely going back for another chicken sando, and gonna try out some Mediterranean dishes. Inside, there is just a place to take and pickup your order, a drink cooler, and two chairs. A polite, soft-spoken gent runs the till and cooks I’m sure. Great spot, so glad I went in. Go give them a try!!

I saw the signs around town so my mom and I ordered here for dinner tonight. We had a gyro pita, a chicken pita, fries and baklava. Everything was delicious and fresh. The pita was soft and the meats were well seasoned and tender. The baklava was a big piece and so delicious. We will develop back!!

I tried their chicken fry and samosa. Samosa was good and cheap. However, I feel like fried chicken are overly salty. They can make it more flavourful, instead of using only salt and pepper in it. Still I will order from there because they are the only people who serve halal fried chicken near Charlottesville. Since, I would suggest to make some changes in the recipe of this fried chicken. At least pour less salt please.

Scrumptious and huge portions. Me and a friend split the butter chicken and gyro salad and it was DELICIOUS. and I mean they do not hold back with the meat. There was so much gyro meat in that salad especially. The salad was cool creamy and crisp while the butter chicken was warm and radiant. Not too spicy if you’re into the mild stuff but still had that warm spice to it. I watched four people in a row order the chicken sandwich. This is my favorite place in Charlottesville after one visit and I can’t wait to update as I try literally everything on their menu.

A gem of a joint bringing NYC halal fare to the folks of Charlottesville. Biggest chicken sandwich I’ve ever gotten in this city and it’s pretty tasty too. My partner is vegan and they were able to take care of all her needs no problem. Def worth checking out.

The absolute BEST chicken sandwich I’ve had in my life. I add their spicy sauce (comes with the sandwich) and honey. It’s simply amazing. Flavorful, juicy, HUGE, crispy, thick pickles, creamy coleslaw, good spice, and great price.
Also recommend: beef vindaloo, butter chicken, gyro. All the meats are so tender!
Don’t recommend: fries and tacos. Nothing wrong with the flavor of either, but the chicken and falafel tacos are underwhelming and the fries are consistently soggy.
But don’t let a few so-so foods deter you from hangry hut! It is AMAZING! Don’t skip out on this delicious hidden gem! And definitely try the Nashville hot chicken sandwich 🙂

My friend brought me here for a quick eat, and this place was top notch. I ordered the chicken sandwich (medium heat) combo and it was amazing. The burgers were nashville hot chicken style burgers with pickles and coleslaw. I would say this competes with the best sandwiches I have ever had. Unlike most restaurants, here they served me with a massive juicy flavorful piece of chicken that protrudes beyond the legal limits of a burgers bun . When I walked in I noticed a familiar friendly face. If you are a UVA student you probably would recognize the awesome guy who works the Halal Kitchen food truck. Little did i know, both halal kitchen and rice bowl express food trucks (wahoos go crazy for them) originate from this restaurant. The staff was so friendly and even gave both me and my friend complimentary mango lassi (also top notch). This restaurant has a very diverse menu where u can choose from three separate menus containing a variety of foods. I would recommend this place for everyone to come try. Overall, I absolutely loved my experience and will definitely be coming back soon!!

Food is very good. However Tzatziki fell short of the cucumber tangy sauce Im used to with a gyro and for travel I prefer it on the side I live 15 miles away, fries were a bit soggy but still tasted really good for traveling that distance. Can’t wait to try them fresh, and Im still coming back to try the rest, they are friendly clean ,kind and quality quick food at great prices. Can’t wait to try the curry. Great first time experience.

Had a hot chicken sandwich and a gyro. The chicken sandwich could be the best in cville. Good bun, huge piece of chicken, thick pickles and a lot of spice. Gyro was good. No inside eating. Takeout only.
