Amazing spot for some delicious burgers and truly incredible homemade ice cream!
We stopped here for dinner after a day at Longwood Gardens and were absolutely blown away by the quality of the food and offerings here.
We both got burgers with bacon, cheese, onions, and bear sauce (highly recommend). After, we got ice cream—and it was stunning. Can’t recommend it enough!
Tons of seating, staff is friendly, and has a nice outdoor section for when the weather is nice.
Honestly can’t wait to go back!

A disappointing disappointment. I wanted to love this place. Came here to treat my in-laws to dinner as part of their Christmas gift and the experience was very lackluster.
Took about 10 minutes for the staff to figure out how to punch in their $45 meal special. Lots of awkward walks back and forth behind the counter, not acknowledging us standing at the register as they texted their manager to figure things out.
Ordered a brunch burger. Requested no lettuce, no tomato, and no chipotle mayo. When the burger came, it had mayo slathered on the top and bottom bun. I wiped it off, but still couldn’t get rid of enough taste to enjoy the burger. Additionally, the meal came with pickles, which the bun and half my fries were sitting on. I hate pickles. I understand that is a preference, but there was nothing indicating they would be on my tray.
My wife ordered the pear grilled cheese without bacon, and it still came with bacon.
I would have sent the items back, but I knew their kitchen was closing soon, and did not want to create a scene, especially since I still had an hour drive home after we finished.
The food, while very good, was not worth the price given the lack of attention given to preparing the orders.
This place has a lot of potential, but really needs to get itself figured out.
Also, just want to say, the grilled cheese was phenomenal. I wish I had just ordered that from the beginning. 10/10 menu item. No notes.
Gingerbread cheesecake ice cream was also phenomenal.
Just get better with the service and attention to food prep and I’m sure you’ll be just as good as that grilled cheese.

As a matter, of course, I love to try local eateries and new establishments. Traveling from Erdenheim to Avondale, I punched in “food near me” on Google Maps around 9:45 am on a Thursday. Much to my surprise, Hangry Bear Creamery popped up as an option, and was then surprised again that a creamery was open before 10:00 am. When I arrived, I was delighted to see that they had decent sized food menu as well, including breakfast, some thing I wasn’t expecting from an ice cream shop. You’re probably thinking why didn’t this guy read the website. I was driving and I never go on the phone and read when I’m driving. And neither should you. It’s unsafe. Since I went to simply get ice cream, this was another great turn of events. I started to order the traditional pork roll, egg and cheese, hoping for local meat and cheese and eggs and pork roll cooked well done. The nice young cashier recommended I consider some of the other meats as an option as well, highlighting the bacon. Not one to disappoint, I went with her recommendation and ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted sourdough bread. The sourdough was thick cut and well buttered and just perfect paired with the thick cut bacon. While the sandwich was cooking, I skid over to the ice cream counter, and selected three of their custom flavors in a cup. It took five minutes to agonize over which flavors Due to a good selection. While the size of the scoops were smaller than anticipated, it was welcomed from the normal gluttonous mounds of sugary dairy. The price which was around five dollars for three scoops was more than reasonable relatively speaking. As I walked around to take some photos of the space, I realized there was a whole second area that was a separate coffee bar. Ordered a Vanilla Latte, 2%. This was too sweet for my taste but I failed to ask them to hold off on a lump or two. The Creamery is located in a more recently constructed, tasteful and clean building with ample parking. Definitely recommend giving it a try. Cheers

We did a private ice cream making event for a baby shower and it was absolutely awesome! Melinda was tremendous. We had so much fun and we learned so much about ice cream. The staff and the space are great and the food is delicious. We loved making our own flavors and getting a glimpse into the world of ice cream making. We even got to do Ice Cream Trivia! Definitely an experience we would recommend for any group, shower, or party. Really excited for this new great local business to take off!

We went for the first time last night. Please people, be understanding and patient. This business is new and will evolve as time passes.
It feels very much like and ice cream shop when you walk it. Everyone is very friendly and the place was clean. Menus are at the register.
Food was fantasic. I would compare it to food you would get at Grain. Same prices too but the atmosphere is more formal at Grain.
Burger – med rare, juicy and full of flavor.
Chicken, brie and fig sandwhich – thick crispy sourdough bread, not processed seasoned chicken, slightly sweet.
Kiddo’s chick tender & fries – daughter didn’t eat fries because they had pepper on them but I thought they were yummy. Tenders were on the smaller size. Great size for my 5 yr old.
Fried OOPs – sooooo goood! Love the horseradish dip that comes with it. Not spicy, just a good flavor.
Mega Mozzarella sticks – there are only 3 but you can see in the picture they are HUGE. Cooked to perfection. They could give you more marinara sauce.
Cookie and cream ice cream was loaded with cookies. Creamy and just right size for the kiddo.

We also like the fries, they are big and hardy.
Friendly staff.
Overall just a huge space with a lot to offer, ice cream, lunch, coffee, drinks, even a event space to do classes and parties.

Stopped in this place with my son on the way home from an errand. I didn’t know about it (I grew up around there, but hadn’t been back in years). Ice cream was delicious! Rich, smooth, velvety, sweet and creamy. Will definitely be back.

I want to see this place do well and succeed, however… $22 for diner-type food is ridiculous. I got a sandwich and fries and after all of the up charges and services charges, I don’t think I can justify coming back here unless prices come down a bit. I can get the same amount of food at Wawa for $6 or Chipotle for $11. Even Country Butcher down the road has a massive burger and fries for $11. So to see a (surprisingly) small sandwich and fries end up at $22 is just disappointing. I could see this being $10-$15 (after all taxes and charges), but its just too expensive to justify as is.
Again – I want to like this place, but the food is way overpriced for the health/quality/volume of the food. Credit cards are the way of the world, adding a service charge is ridiculous (though I suspect this is because baseline prices are already quite high).

It’s not just national companies. Your prices aren’t competitive with local family restaurants like country butcher or even the taquerias in Kennett. And the food may be freshly made there, but it’s mostly fried food and sandwiches.
