HangOverEasy is the perfect place to cure your hangover – or keep the party going. We serve up playful takes on classic breakfast favorites. Join us for a hangover brunch, a breakfast cocktail (or two) and maybe a boozy milkshake with a stack of pancakes. Our regulars love our Bloody Marys and Mimosas, and we have a full bar for those in the mood for other boozy drinks. We make all our dishes from scratch, and we use local foods whenever we can. Came here at 12:00pm for lunch and ordered a how burger without egg. Normally expected to be a great burger but very burnt on the bun, burger was dry and the bacon was petrified. I love some crispy bacon, but this was too far. Fries weren’t all cooked 100%, but I did eat them. Only one waiter actively working and I was hungry so didn’t have time to ask for a correction. Quite a busy place at lunch time. I’m a local who tries to be reasonable. This was just not good.

My wife and I took our daughter to visit OU this on a Wednesday morning. After 4 hours of driving (with our 2 large dogs), we get there to find our appointment had been moved back two hours. Everyone was tired, irritable, and starving. I needed to get some comfort food, a stiff drink, and decompress. I was pretty certain I wouldn’t find anything that checked all the boxes at 9:30 in the morning, but being a college town, I had hope. Pulled up the Yelp app, and saw HangOverEasy, that they were open, offered a full bar, even at 9:30 AM, and the food sounded amazing. We left OU, and arrived within minutes. The place was so cool! It was a throwback to an old-school diner. Our hostess, who was also our waitress, seemed to be the only one working the front of the house, so initially was concerned about how the service would be, but this girl ROCKED! I believe her name was Alexandra (or something close), and she was amazing. She was so chill, friendly, and efficient, and made sure everything was perfect. She alone would have made HangOverEasy worth visiting, honestly. And the food was SO GOOD! I had the chicken and waffles, which were crispy, tender, juicy and so flavorful. My wife had the “frog eyes” which were biscuits topped with sausage gravy and fried eggs, and our daughter opted for the cinnamon roll French toast. We were all impressed. I also had (thankfully) two “hog wash” cocktails, which is bourbon with bacon (two of my favorite things) and they were so good, and much needed. I walked in on the verge of losing my mind, and left in an entirely new state of mind. Changed my whole day. I LOVE this place and am kinda hoping my daughter opts to attend OU, just so I can visit HangOverEasy again (and possibly my daughter while I’m down there…) What a great experience. Definitely a must-try!

This was a nice little spot to grab a bite. It was quiet and the food was hot and tasty. The atmosphere was inviting and cozy with lots of things to look at while you eat. I got the braised beef and Swiss omelette and some loaded fries and I was very happy with both.

My husband ordered biscuits and gravy with an over medium egg egg came out too hard and the gravy was a little cold. I ordered the sausage potato plate and it was good but the potatoes that seemed like they had been in the pan for a few days some of them that were hard. The biscuit was delicious and the Service was nice. also, they only had fake cream for the coffee.

I stopped by HangOverEasy and was pleasantly surprised by their unique take on a tuna melt, which really hit the spot! The ingredients used added a refreshing twist to the classic sandwich, making it memorable. The service was outstanding, with attentive and friendly staff making the visit enjoyable. While the atmosphere was more laid-back than I expected, it didn’t detract from the overall experience. Definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a stellar meal with great service!

Nice little place to grab breakfast. Decided to stop here on the way out of town. Got right in on a Saturday morning. Ordered the French Toast and a side of bacon. Wasn’t the best, wasn’t the worst but by no means bad. I enjoyed it. My friend got some sort of breakfast hash that she said was really delicious. I think it’s worth going back to. Recommended.

While working down in Athens we were looking for somewhere to get breakfast and this place was perfect! Really nice staff, the food come out in good time and was warm and fresh. They use good/real ingredients too you could taste the quality, I got the biscuits and gravy and it was just like mamma would make it we will absolutely be stopping in again!!

Today on my rounds of eating at every restaurant in Athens: HangOver Easy.
This was on a whim, so take this review with a grain of salt as we went at peak time. That means longer waits, a bit of a rush on cooks, and more tables for servers. So let’s give credit where it’s due; these workers are amazing. Service is 5 stars as not only did I receive amazing service but I witnessed others acquire above and beyond interactions. These workers go above and beyond to curate your experience. Thank them kindly and be sure to tip well.
The food is alright. A bit bland with seasonings in some items but it’s presentation is absolutely gorgeous. Not to mention there is salt and pepper to season to taste. For me, this was a bit of a bummer as the food didn’t justify the price. This is a personal opinion and maybe it’ll tickle your fancy more than mine.
Again! Let me emphasize, I went at peak business so this may not always be the case. However, if you have sensory issues i highly suggest noise cancelling headphones. The lighting is perfect as the old style diner is well lit with sun and the AC offsets the warmth from it. This place is very overstimulating, so please be cautious if crowded and loud areas aren’t your cup of tea.
If you like breakfast style foods, or even need a pick me up after a long Athens bar crawl, try HangOver Easy.

The service and food presentation was excellent! Unfortunately the food quality was lacking. The potatoes were cold and the eggs were undercooked. We will definitely try again next time we visit Athens.

Breakfast! Stopped in Athens Ohio for the night so could not pass up this place. My buddy got the skillet and was very happy. Our superb hosted Allie recommended the frogs eyes! An amphibious ocular breakfast???! No it biscuits and gravy with eggs! Add some excellent bacon and coffee and I am a happy camper.
