Hanei Kaya in homewood is a real gem!! The sushi was fresh and delicious. A real standout for us was the drunken noodles – great flavor, generous portions, and honestly the best in town, especially for the price. So good we went back the next day! Unagi don was great too!!

It was DELICIOUS!! We loved it for so many reasons. The staff was so kind. Our server was Ivan. Favorite appetizer was the Avocado Bomb! SO GOOD!! I got the chicken hibachi for dinner! Portions are large! Had to take some home! Will be coming back!

We had the best experience here for a date night. The decor is so cute! Our server Ivan was so sweet and attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed throughout our dinner and was so friendly and fun! I’ve never seen sushi served with such epic presentation. It was beautiful and so colorful and fresh! Would love to come back here and also try the hibachi.

Absolutely amazing!!!!! I got a takeout order last night with the hot mess roll, gyoza and onion soup. Best sushi I’ve had in Birmingham (I’ve lived here for 4 years!) I can’t wait to go back and try more!!!!!!!

Super chill little neighborhood spot. Big and tasty rolls that are pretty and creative.
Great appetizers and hot dishes as well.
Very friendly servers and staff. I misread the menu and had to send a dish back but they remade it and fixed it for me without complaint.
The lady I was with says they have her favorite fried calamari . It’s not my thing but she loved it and her hibachi steak and sushi roll.
I had the grilled red curry chicken which was very tasty though I wish I had gotten the Katsu don. My cherry blossom roll was also quite good as were the pork spring rolls.
I’m not sure how long they have been there but I hope they last a while because they were quite delicious and very polite and friendly. I’m looking forward to going back

The sushi here is amazing and fresh. I am not from Birmingham I am from Mobile and the quality of sushi is a lot better in Mobile. And I have not been able to find a good sushi place here in Birmingham but this place is it. The sushi quality is great and fresh.And the prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of sushi.

So delicious and family friendly! Our kids requested to go back and tried many delicious new foods. From the sushi to the hot menu items, it did not disappoint. Thrilled to have this place in Homewood!

Came in here with my boyfriend for our anniversary all the way from Tuscaloosa. Our expectations were met and we enjoyed everything about this place! Our server was very nice and friendly. The presentation for each roll and nigiri were beautiful, will be coming back the next time we’re in town 🙂
