I enjoys exploring hearty North Indian cuisine, my experience at was quite satisfying and earns a solid 3.5-star rating. This place has built a strong name for itself, and in terms of taste, the food is truly impressive, easily comparable to what you’d expect at a good 4-star hotel.

During our visit, we ordered Shahi Paneer, Pudina Paratha, Mix Raita, and Handi Dum Veg Biryani with Salan, and every dish delivered rich, well-balanced flavours. The Shahi Paneer was creamy and indulgent, the biryani was aromatic, served in Handi and comforting, and the salan and raita complemented the meal beautifully. Overall, the food quality stood out as the strongest aspect of the experience.

However, there are a few practical things to keep in mind. The main dining area is on the upper ground floor, and you need to climb around 15 stairs to reach it, which may not be very convenient for elderly guests or those with mobility concerns. Once upstairs, the seating is quite limited, and during peak hours the space can feel congested and a bit cramped.

That said, if you’re specifically looking for a dhaba-style vibe in the heart of Connaught Place, this is absolutely a must-visit. The rustic feel, generous portions, and outstanding taste make it a great spot for satisfying comfort food, just be prepared for the compact seating and staircase.

Truly a very nice restaurant with a quiet and subtle vibe to it, went there with my friend for some non-veg as we’re both catabolic at that time and ordered chicken tikka (flavourful and classic) and dum chicken biryani (had egg, not a lot of ghee & too much spice and it was prepared very thoroughly).
Tried the crispy chilli potato, Chicken garlic tikka and keema naan (on my 2nd visit) & still as awesome as before.

This is the only cafe in CP where you get a variety of dishes cooked in a mitti ki handi with tandoor dum, which enhances the flavor and makes the food exceptionally delicious.
I tried handi dum dal makhani, dum veg biryani, handi paneer butter masala, and a veg platter, and everything was absolutely tasty!

Located on outer road of Connaught Place.
Serves authentic Punjabi food. Good variety on the menu, but actually limited dishes offered. Quality of food was average. Quantity was average. Service was ok.
Sitting is in the first floor.
Very limited sitting with only 5 to 6 tables can accommodate approx 30 people.
No cleanliness maintained.
No ambience very basic restaurant.
Overall experience was below average.
Better to try other restaurants for Punjabi food.

*A North Indian gem in terms of flavours with very reasonable pricing*

With a laid back and cosy ambience, Their Tandoori delicacies are so well marinated that they’ve infused perfectly with the spices.

The curry based dishes like Handi Mutton and Butter Chicken are bursting with flavours and are absolutely mouth watering in terms of texture and taste.

The staff is humble, well mannered and polite. This spot is perfect for both (dining in and take-away)

Must try dishes:

Keema Naan
Paneer Tikka
Handi Ghosht
Butter Chicken

This place has been a go-to for every delhiite since 2012, and for good reason! The food is consistently delicious, especially the Butter Chicken and Dum Dal Makhani. The Dal Makhani, served in a traditional handi, is a must-try. It’s smoky, flavorful, and incredibly rich. The Paneer Butter Masala is also a winner – sweet and tangy with a perfect balance of flavors.

The Dum Chicken Biryani is aromatic and flavorful, with a good kick of spice. The raita is a perfect cooling accompaniment.
