The mango matcha is super yummy, I’m definitely going to come back and try other flavors of their matcha!

A hidden gem in Brooklyn Heights! The ingredients were fresher and the cooking more authentic than the Thai restaurant next door — which only stood out for its nicer-looking storefront.

Stumbled upon this cozy and delightful resto. Got one of the lunch specials – a Banh Mi roasted pork sandwich and mint tea. Perfect on a blustery fall day. Every yummy sandwich starts with good bread and theirs is freshly baked and slightly crusty and holds up to the meat and veggies in between. They don’t hold back either. My sandwich had a generous amount of savory and flavorful roasted pork along with the julienne carrots and other veggies. And service was kind and efficient. Could smell the deliciousness of my sandwich on my R train back to manhattan. I really enjoyed this sandwich and will definitely stop in again.

Casual lunch spot but the Banh Mi is just very average, mostly just pickled carrot and bread

TL;DR: Good banh mi, okay service, roach.

Prior to the pandemic I was a regular patron of both Downtown Brooklyn Hanco’s locations. Today was my first time visiting in more than four years and it did not live up to the nostalgic hype.

I ordered two banh mi’s and three bubble teas and the total was $46. The bubble teas were just okay. I could find equal or better teas at probably a dozen different shops within walking distance. The classic banh me was still good, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I anticipated. Part of the reason for the disappointment was the dead roach that someone “offed” prior to my arrival and didn’t bother to remove. I tried to inform one of the employees, but she ignored me as she walked past me. The other employee that I spoke with apologized and immediately cleaned up the uninvited guest.

I recall seeing a recent review that mentioned the smell of roach spray or insecticide and I hoped for the best, but sadly their suspicions were correct.

I will not return.

My go to for a banh mi. I usually get the pork and a bubble tea. Amazing flavour for the food and drink and friendly service. This time around I did find quite a price hike which was sad, but the quality is still there.

Tried some Banh mi and it was okay. The bread was too soft and the food wasn’t too flavorful. The price was a little high for what I got. I’ll give them another try but not expecting much.

I appreciate the serving size here, as I was looking to get my protein fix after an intensive workout session.

I have had my fair share of Vietnamese food, but never had the scallions hit the way it did on top of the rice here. It added a pop of flavor that was pleasantly unexpected. Pickled veggies were done right, chicken seasoned well, and the lettuce was quite refreshing.

And the hot Thai iced tea got me feeling some type of way…

The ladies at the counter were friendly, efficient and served food in a very timely manner. I ordered the pork Bahn mi with mild spice and a Thai tea bubble drink which was absolutely delicious. The portion size was exactly what I expected for the price. Will definitely return
