So we were driving by this strip mall and noticed this small sushi place we’d never seen before. We looked it up on Yelp to see what people were saying and kind of knew what to expect. But when we got there, we noticed some of the food pictures we saw on Yelp weren’t on their menu anymore.
The waitress told us those were probably from the old owner. That was a little disappointing because we were hoping they had Katsu and grilled squid, but they don’t. Their menu’s actually pretty small, just a few appetizers, sushi, sashimi, and rolls.
The waitress was really nice though. She could tell we were a bit disappointed and suggested a few things to try. We ended up ordering the soft shell crab tempura, shrimp tempura roll, sashimi combo, veggie roll, and tiger roll.
The tempura was actually really good, crispy, not greasy, and you could tell they used fresh oil, not the old stuff. If you’ve had tempura made with old oil, you know the difference. The sashimi was fresh but sliced pretty thin, which is fine for $17. The rolls were also fresh. We asked for no sauce so we could really taste the fish, and it was decent, not amazing, but good for the price.
Overall, it’s nice having a sushi place in that area. The food’s fresh, the service is friendly, and it’s a good casual spot to grab some sushi if you’re nearby.

The chef is an absolute artist!!! I enjoyed a delicious seared salmon sushi plate.
The prices are astonishing for the quality that you get. It’s so nice to see food as an art form again where you can tell the people care about what they’re selling because of passion and not profit.
Also, the vibes of this place are so welcoming and warm and relaxing, just need a bit of polishing of the rough edges.
I’ll definitely be coming back but next time I have to bring my kids who also loved the food(they couldn’t help but ask for some when they saw how awesome it looked).

Hana Sushi is amazing. Honestly some of the best such I we have had in the valley since moving here 6 years ago. They are an owner operated business and they care so much about their customers. They deserve all the support. I think my wife and I have eaten here at least 5-6 times in the last 2-3 weeks.
We can’t get enough.
This will definitely be our go to sushi spot and we’re so thankful to have found it.

If you’re looking for a mama and papa sushi bar this is the one you want to go to. They make it like it they would make it in the country. This sushi very good and I recommend anybody that like sushi to go to this location is Union Hills and 7th Avenue. The staff is very warm friendly. This place was underwhelming. We read the review and was disappointed with our visit. The restaurant was very small. The server was not that great. He did not check up on us. As for the food, it was not that great. It took them 30 minutes to bring the food out and 40 minutes to bring out the sushi. We ordered one roll and an eel. The roll did not taste good. It taste really bland. The pork cutlet I ordered was not that good either. The veggie that was included did not taste fresh. The curry felt bland. Overall this place needs a huge improvement.
