We ate here our first night in this All-Inclusive. The service was friendly, but quite laid back. Nobody rushed us! We ordered a selection of appetizers and main dishes to try. The standouts were the “Maui salad” (beets with sesame candy and goat cheese), and the “crispy catch of the day” (a whole red snapper, lightly deboned, lightly battered, and fried whole). Dessert got mixed reviews from us – we ordered the Pineapple upside down cake to share. It was quite wet, with a plain yellow cake that reminded me a little of sweet cornbread. The whole thing reminded me of Tres Leches cake (only, with pineapple juice instead of milks). I liked it, husband wasn’t wowed.
The Ohana noodle dish was just ok. The kava shrimp were tasty and fresh. The Ahi steak was tasty, but the teriyaki sauce was a little overwhelming – I was grateful the whole thing was served in a bowl so the sauce could drain off the fish.

Hana offers breakfast buffet in the morning and sit down to order from menu for dinner at night. This review is for the dinner. The most updated menu is available from the AIMB app which we used to reserve the table. We came here for dinner at Saturday and Tuesday. The Makaweli short rib we had on Saturday was tender and delicious. When we tried to order it again on Tuesday 6PM, the waiter said they ran out of it. The avacado salad, the shrimps and mussle/calamari soup were also good. Besides that, the chicken, pork chop and fish was just all right.

Dinner at Hana is not just a meal it’s a whole extraordinary experience. The first thing you notice about this restaurant is the beautiful atmosphere and decor. The service was phenomenal and they make sure you are really well taken care of. The menu caters to all tastes. My servers helped choose my appetizer, main dish, and dessert which were all great! The food presentation were all a piece of art and the taste was just perfect. There was nothing I could complain about except that I could not come back to try the other menu options.
Hana also served the main breakfast buffet for the Marriott resort which is priced around 25$ per person. They had a decent selection of breakfast items plus special dishes every day. Definitely a great buffet to give you a head start for the day but it can’t be compared to the dinner experience.

Our family of 7 ate here in December 2025. We waited about 45 minutes for our 730pm reservation. The food was not good. The atmosphere was diner quality – no Polynesian themed stuff or entertainment at all with basic faux wood tables. The shrimp appetizer was mealy. The poke appetizer was strongly fishy. The Caeser saled was tasteless. The chicken noodle soup and the beet salad were good. For the mains no one liked any of their entrees. The short ribs were tasteless. The fish was dry. The steaks, which cost an extra $20, were not cooked as ordered and fatty. The only decent entree was the flank steak. The mashed potato sides had no salt and tasted like wallpaper paste. The sides came out 15 minutes after the mains. They never brought the creamed spinach sides we ordered despite us asking twice. Service was friendly but inattentive – no one ever checked in after delivering the food. For deserts the ice cream was the best choice. All in all a very disappointing experience for our first night at the Cancun Marriott.

The worst food at the property. Staffs were also less attentive compared to other restaurants or facilities. Ribeye was too salty. Fried whole snapper felt like they never used salt. Octopus was too sweet and fishy. It was a sad place.

Food tasted excellent. The ribs were cooked to perfection, falling off the bone easily and full of flavor. Mashed potatoes and taro chips were great sides. The filet mignon and shrimp were full of flavor and cooked well. The desserts were delectable.
However service was lacking, often left without drinks, including even water for long periods.

An amazing restaurant inside the Marriott Resort! The food was not only delicious but it also has a fabulous representation! We love the bread although we didn’t know what kind of cheese was that, we ate them all quickly! Besides, we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet! Huge selection of fruits, cheese, and cereals! You can make your own omelette with different toppings. There were also many cooked dishes which rotates everyday! The service was also excellent! I remember Alberto! He was very friendly and prompt! Whenever you need, he would be with you right away. The dancing show in the evening was amazing too! Great memories and experience! Highly recommended.

I recommend the grilled shrimp as a starter. The complementary bread with butter is good also. Tuna steak was okay but the sea bass was better.

I mean, we had a reservation and waited 35 mins for the table when the place was 1/2 full. All of the food was presented great, but it struck me as stereotypically “white” in a sense? There was no seasoning on almost all of our dishes.
Beet salad was great, but there were quite a few of us in the family and I don’t think anyone’s dinner had salt. Mashed potatoes came about 15 minutes after their main courses did, and I can guarantee, there was no salt .
House bread was not great, very dry. Fried fish of the day was okay, also no salt. Poke was fishy, lacking salt. Shrimp app was okay, a bit mushy, and had no salt. Calamari and mussels were not great. Mushy and fishy, no salt. Sweet potatoes were maybe 1/2 cooked… And had no salt.
Ribs were by far the best thing I had, but they were cold. Very disappointing. Servers were nice but many orders were missing items, several drinks and orders were completely wrong.
Chocolate cake was also okay. Was moist but also inexplicably dry? Confusing.

Not gonna lie this was the absolute worst dinner at a restaurant I have had in my entire life.
Half of our food was literally inedible. I am appalled that this place has so many good reviews. Cannot believe there are so many AI reviews. I’d rather eat at Wendy’s or Jack in the Box than Hana dinner.
We got tuna tartar, which was horrid and tasted like the worst fishy tartar I have ever had. Then we had cold, chewy pork and cold tuna steak — keep in mind I was dining with 10 people so we tried EVERYTHING on the menu.
The steaks (which you had to pay $20-30 dollars extra to get) were decent. The fish was terrible terrible.
The restaurant was not busy at all (5 other parties actively dining with 1/4 or tables taken?) so there is no excuse. We dined at 6pm.
We our entree were then served the sides that we ordered to accompany our entrees — mashed potatoes and spinach (which they gave us corn instead) that were unsalted and out of a box. So confusing.
We are not picky eaters and don’t mind mediocre food but this was truly so bad and inedible. We all left the restaurant hungry after ordering 15+ dishes because they were all try and toss.
This restaurant has become a meme in our family because of how bad it was. Have fun at Hana being tricked by Ai reviews!
