The Cantonese food here is really good. The portions are nice, and the price is fair. I was pleasantly surprised by how many options they have on the menu, giving me lots of choices to try and enjoy. It’s always busy during lunch and dinner, and they don’t take reservations. The staff are friendly and quick. The place looks like a classic old-fashioned noodle shop. Parking is free and plenty of space on the side. I definitely recommend this tasty spot.

If you want really good Curry Beef Brisket, you will want to go here. The food here is outstanding. The portions are good, better than other places we’ve been. I’ve noticed that other restaurants are raising their prices and making the portions smaller, han lin kept the portions the same. The waiter and waitresses are friendly and efficient. The ambiance is okay, I mean it’s not where you want to bring your first date if you want to be romantic. We’ve been going there for at least 25 years, it was called Hons before now it’s Han Lin, but it’s the same staff. We go there from Cloverdale because we love it so much.

Havent been to this place since I was a teenager and it definitely lives up to the positive memories.

Great lunch combos with huge portions that are big enough to share, or save for later. The vegetarian potstickers and black bean spareribs were a a standout.

I have ordered a delivery to try. The beef chow mein with veggies lacks seasoning and its only one type of veggie. The beef was more on the fat and grease side of it. The spring rolls were good however the package had a whole on it… not sure why but definitely its not a good presentation.

It’s a really good Chinese restaurant. We go there for late lunch on Saturday. I don’t know what to order. I see the chicken with broccoli chow mein looking good on my next table. So I just tell the staff I want this one on the other table. She tells me that the one I want has lunch special. It’s a good deal. It costs only $14.95 for it. Thank you for the friendly and helpful staff.
Since we are too hungry, I forget to take pictures.
I also order one veggies stream dumpling and congee. The dumplings are so good and fresh. It’s even better than the big dim sum restaurants in Vancouver.
I will come back for it soon.
I can only take some pictures outside the restaurant. The food are just as good as the pictures showing there.

After finishing some work nearby this evening, I suddenly had a strong craving for Cantonese-style noodles. A quick Google search led me to this spot, and I was pleasantly surprised by its extensive menu — from dim sum and BBQ meats to noodle soups and stir-fried dishes. The only thing missing was traditional Hong Kong-style drinks.

To be fair, the food quality was average — at least for the bowl of noodles I had. The restaurant seems to be positioned similarly to an old-school Cantonese noodle house, with prices to match.

I ordered the beef tripe and wonton rice noodles. The noodles were a bit firmer than expected, likely from being pre-cooked. The beef tripe was a nice surprise — not exceptional, but actually better than what I’ve had at some more established noodle shops. The wontons were at least made with real shrimp, though the wrappers were on the thick side.

In short, it’s worth a try if you’re really craving it, but don’t set your expectations too high.

I tried this restaurant for the first time. Overall, the prices/ set menu specials are good and, the portions are generous. I liked the crispy chowmein and the deep fried pork dumplings the best. I like that they have dim sum options too. The only thing I would recommend is tweaking the hot and sour soup. I love hot and sour soup but it was just too salty for me and my other 2 family members. I’d be open to coming back to try other dishes.

20+ years and still the best! Han Lin Noodle House is a New West institution. I’ve tried plenty of Chinese restaurants across the Lower Mainland, but I always find myself coming back here. The quality has never dipped in two decades. Amazing food, great service, and a local gem I’ll be visiting for another 20 years!

Old Hon’s turned into Han Lin Noodles House. Good a variety of food. Won ton noodles was good and the other food are just average.
The place got very busy. Service was good in general. There is only street parking available so it’s a bit hard to find parking.
